I've come to a single ultimate conclusion.
THIS THREAD IS AN EXPLOIT OF THE FORUMS. CCP plz to ban Subspace for exploitin
Gawd i can't believe I'm about to compare EVE to sims. K. on the sims, a viable and entertaining career track is to be a criminal.
Same thing on EVE. the purpose of the game is to have fun and make money. How you do this isn't laid out by a finite career path. Such a thing would destroy all that this game stands for, and all that makes this game stand apart from other MMO's
Here's a segment of advice. If you're unhappy with what's happening. go further inland. (in space, so figuratively of course) I mean, you're right next to a freaking lowsec known for pirate activity.
Don't blame the pirates because you are too stubborned to move. It's like a train. How do people get hit by trains? You simply MOVE off of the tracks. Freighters: Structure Tanking FTW. |

So say I was a new player looking to get into the wide world of ****ing of Hulks, what ships/fittings/skills would you recommend?
I've already trained to covops, how do bombers do against miners?

I'm not really a pirate but to me it seems like the most effective way is to grab a bunch of throaxes and stick them in an orca. Freighters: Structure Tanking FTW. |

Hi,
Thanks for contacting customer support.
Unfortunately kamikazes attack is a part of the game and we don't reimburse destroyed ships for this reason.
You can find more information about kamikaze attack and secure space in our knowledge base : https://support.eve-online.com/Pages/KB/Article.aspx?id=341
As for how he managed to enter there, it is possible with a jump clone by example, I can confirm you this isn't an exploit or a EULA violation.
He also received his punishment from CONCORD as every kamikaze in the game.
We hope that you understand our position and that you will recover swiftly from the loss. |

And we are just saying what everyone knows is true:
These Pirates are Criminals pure and simple!
First thing: Princess Tama was referring to a server (blade) just for you to mine on, not a weapon.
Second thing: You don't need an Orca to get ships into hi-sec. It's still not an exploit when you do use one.

You dont need an Orca unless youre planning a mission many jumps from low sec. 1-2 istabs in the lows work fine to get you into warp before Fed police show up.
Typical thorax setup is as follows
Hi: 5x Heavy Neutron Blaster I loaded with 5-7 rounds of faction antimatter each (No sense in wasting ammo )
Mid: Warp Scram I, 2x Sensor Booster I with Resolution scripts
lows: 1-2x istabs I, 3-4 MFS I
Drones: Hammerhead I x5
In warp, activate and overload everything, make sure your drones are set to aggress, when you warp in, lock your target by double clicking them on the overview, which is faster IMO, then move your mouse pointer to the center of the screen so you can click the "are you sure you want to do this" box as fast as possible. Then release your drones.
Clicking the warning box before releasing the drones is important, because drone release causes slight lag which can interfere with your ability to start shooting due to the warning screen.
Oh and make sure you fully insure your thorax before you depart. If done right, your total loss should be just under about 2M per thorax loss.

How is this an exploit? And what are you hoping too get out of this, that CCP removes the shipbay in the Orca?
You know you are not safe in high sec, switch on your brain and figure something out too defend yourselfs, dont go crying too CCP.

So I'm due for an orca in about a week or so. Would there be any interest in a service where I'd haul suicide ships to the safespot or gankspot of your choice for pirate corps currently w/o access to an orca?
I think I can subsidize the manufacture by selling mining gear in system so the total cost would be closer to 1M than 2M for the t1 fit rax. T1 fit thrashers or ruptures should be no problem either.
I envision it working this way. Tell me the system you want to raid and an idea of roughly how many ships you'd want. Give me a day or two for logistics and a safespot bookmark. Then it gets a bit fuzzy -- you'd need the ships at a station (to insure) before I can release them so either pirates need to trust a 5.0 carebear or vice versa.
Anyhoo, drop me an evemail if this seems like a useful service. I'd be willing to work gratis for this righteous cause and even contribute an alt or two so long as macks in Osmon get hit as part of the rotation.

Edited by: Angel Mortalitas on 18/06/2009 08:59:19 Put simply: NO, IT IS NOT AN EXPLOIT!!!
This very idea was hypothesized numerous times in the development threads prior to the release of the Orca.
If it was indeed considered an exploit don't you think CCP would have implement measures to prevent such a tactic, hmmm?
Too bad we don't fly Raxes (we have access to 2 Orca alts in 2 neutral corps) otherwise we would have started playing around with this a long time ago

Would have to be some buff. Instead of 3 Thoraxes they'll just use 5. Or 3 BC, or 3 BS, or 4, or 5....
See where I'm going with this?
I would prefer an insurance nerf, no insurance payoutfor concordokened ships. I don't even know why it is in the game anyway, it's utter crap. |

Its not suitable for soloing a hulk, but for the price and in groups of 3 or 4, its a very cost effective route. 100 dead Hulks cant be wrong. |

Use the Meta 2 version of the HNB instead (Limited Neutron Blaster I). You get a bit more damage, and they're cheaper than the basic T1 version. Same for the MFS. The Meta 1 version (Insulated Stabilizer Array I) is only slightly more expensive than the basic T1, and you get a bit more DPS and ROF. The Meta 1 sensor booster (Prototype I Sensor Booster) is also almost as cheap as the basic one and give you a bit more scan res.
All in all, it'll cost you about the same, you'll get more damage and potentially an extra volley.

From a cost perspective, youre absolutely right, however, availability of meta items can be a challenge. We have destroyed approximately 500-600 thoraxes since we started ganking hulks. Its easier to get T1 modules in volume than the meta items. |

For bulk, you are of.c. right.... However, if you can get the others (Jita has a decent supply atm), better to use them than not, particularly for those of us who don't do this all that often
