Edited by: Dragonaire on 03/07/2009 16:00:56 BTW this isn't really directed at Jurimaru for his post it just brought up something in my mind that I've been thinking about for a long time since I started working on API stuff.
It always gets me that everyone wants to have all the API based applications to get and use something that requires their full API key as CCP laid down to protect their information that they might consider sensitive then b**** and/or worry about what it might be used for
I do think all API base software should be clear that they do require it and everyone that uses any of them should check it out that they are only using it for what they need but I've yet to see anything that was made by the original developer just to get people's API keys it's only been a couple of hacker modified versions of a couple applications that have tried to do that.
That is one reason, but not the only one, why I decided to use PHP in Yapeal and make it open source so anyone can see what and how it's using the API key. Doing so made it very easy for anyone to check it out either themselves or have someone else they trust check it out for them. I've never just asked people to trust me or what is in Yapeal nor is Johnathan with KKS since he has also released it as open source where you can see everything it does by just looking at the code as well.
Ok I'll get off my soapbox now and go back to my programming -- Finds camping stations from the inside much easier. Designer of Yapeal for Eve API.

Edited by: Jurimaru on 03/07/2009 18:39:46 As for me personally, i don't consider API part of KS to be the most important feature. If we take into consideration pilots willing to maintain small killboard for themselves only (make a dump or snapshot of all kills) API solution might become irrelevant in case of pilot being a member of alliance + alt in NPC corp.
Contributing to Karambit concept i'm just willing to suggest a choice implementation where user is free to decide whether to download KM's through API calls or submit it manually. Especially on a stage of installation.
And once again, as more alternatives to killboard engines we got the more interesting solutions we might face. My personal respect towards Johnathan

How's about to notify that engine expects to receive a Full API key? I'm pretty sure it is kept unrevealed and so on, but might be a good idea to provide a kind of key for testing purposes. The project might require a kind of confirmation that it deals with corp Full API key properly.
It currently requires a director or ceo full api key. That is unlikely to change. Anyone is welcome to make sure nothing is exposed that shouldn't be, if you find something, please let me know.

The big thing about KKS is that its centered around the API. If manually posted killmails are added, they will be treated as untrusted. If I do added them, it will be to support feeds from places like EDK.
At some point, I intend to make it so it will also act as a person killboard. But that would still require a full api key to work.

Trunk has been updated. If you want the images to work properly, you will need to download the images from the toolkit page and extract them in the /img directory so that you have /img/bluepritns/, /img/icons/, img/logos/, and /img/types/.
