So some of yall know me as the guy who spammed/spams the Help channel, the guy who made his own help channel, "Help Chat - Uncut" or just the guy who's in Iraq atm. Lol..
Some of parts of this story occurred only because of my own lapse of judgment. I do not deny this....I do not atone for it, either. But yeah, there'll be parts where all you can say is, "Lol, what a dumbass..."
Anyway, the story.
So, I've recently come into about 1.5B ISK (legitimately, I assure you) and after talking to my friend DmitryEKT about what to spend it on, I was headed to Jita to buy a Vindicator. As I'm reaching Perimeter or so, I get pulled into a briefing, and I'm gone for about an hour or so. As I'm omw to buy a ship and fly it home to Sinq, I was in only a pod.
When I got back to my laptop, I found that I was in a station...as it turned out, I'd made it to Jita, only to be suicide podded by somebody I'd had some words with sometime last summer (those of you who know me well know that this is not at all hard to believe, lol).
There are a few reasons in particular why this sucks. The first is....well, I got podded. The second was that my clone was out of date, as I haven't fooled with a clone since I got deployed in December or so, and that my replacement body was in the middle of Curse. Yeah, the 0.0 region.
So I grab my complimentary Velator and head five jumps over to the nearest medbay so I can upgrade my clone and set the location so selfdestruct my pod back into empire. All goes well, till I get to about three thousand kilometers from the station gate...
I'd dropped out of warp right into a corp war. BANGBANG, podding #2.
At this point, I've lost about half the SP on Battlecruisers 5 between these two poddings, btw.
So now I'm back in Curse. By now, all of Uncut knows what's going on and they're giving their advice on what to do. Under chaov's suggestion, I use the jump clone I honestly forgot I had...
...Conveniently forgetting that the JC is still set to put me in the middle of Querious. What makes this even funnier? Not only did I jump into a Goon-owned station, Querious is former BoB, now Goonfleet space.
So now I've been podded twice, have no easy way out of 0.0 and am now trapped in Goon territory. Uncut is about to die from laughing so hard, and I'm still trying to digest the whole "WTF?!" of the whole thing.
So I buy a shuttle and get ready to suit up and make a break for it...only to discover that my old Ratapocalypse is still here, just as I left it. So, I grab that instead.
A few friends are telling me to wait until downtime to move, but my shift will be over well before then and I intend to be sleeping. I have to leave, now. But, as I debate how best to go about that, the locals start trickling into the system one and two at a time. Local went from 5 people to 12.
A battle buddy of mine uses my alt to scout me out of 0.0. Luckily, I was in shallow 0.0 waters and the nearest highsec system is 5 jumps away.
Right as she gets to 100km of the station and tells me to undock, I get jumped by a drake and a smattering of other ships. It's also worth noting that I'm still trying to get the apoc...and my other worldly posessions in Z-UZZN where I was, out to empire safely.
Needless to say, the apoc is devoured. I head for the gate in a pod, while CWRA, the corp who's HQ system I was in >.>, start chasing me. The two or three Goonies shoot at my alt (who's in an Ibis) before chasing me as well.
Long story short, the rest of the trip, though harrowing, went relatively smoothly. I made it to Badivefi, whereupon I immediately updated my clone, changed its location, and breathed a sigh of relief. :P
END.
Special thanks to - Naibasak, chaov, DEATHFROMABOVEPEWPEW, Cowtipper1, and everyone else who offered their advice, encouragement, sarcasm, and laughter to this ordeal. Bastards. Lol....
Oh yeah.

That shuttle you bought was from me, and the Drake that caught you was mine.
I saw your buddy in system so i undocked to investigate, i find he is 100km off from the station in an ibis, then not 10 seconds later a shiny apocalypse undocks on top of me, not wanting to deprive my fellow corp members of a kill i inform them that i have a point on Shura'Sokoris who has been in the outpost for hours and that if they would like undock or warp to me now.
So that was that.

I'm sorry to be so picky after such a cool story, but you really shouldn't mention that you're sharing your account...

Edited by: Tiny Tove on 25/06/2009 10:54:23 How ironic that your pod is trapped in what used to be your own territory, and you're in Iraq. Unless you're an Iraqi, in which case it's just double tragic.

Edited by: Lady Spank on 25/06/2009 13:01:48 That's a lot of bad decision making in one story :)
Let me know when you get your vindicator.
You could probably have gotten out of curse quite easily, there's some quieter routes out to amarr space. |

You have got to be kidding me!!!
I have a much better story...............
Once upon a time, I woke up after sleeping, I undocked in my space ship and got killed. Then I got in another space ship far away from the first one where people were mean to me and called me names. So I decided to flame back at them in local right before they blew up my space ship. And since I wasn't expecting to be killed today - much less twice - I forgot to update my clone and thought it would be really funny if I told everyone how I screwed up and lost some skill points.
Then, while autopiloting my pod in 0.0 space, I decided to go eat some rutabaga pie. And while I was stuffing my face someone shot and killed me for a third time since I logged! Whew, is this getting exciting for everyone yet?
Haha, boy all this was really funny, aye? Hey everyone, look at me! I am bored and thought I would take up everyone's time making a post in GD forums about my wondering adventures. Stay tuned tomorrow when I take up three pages explaining how one of my alts was out mining one time and some nasty NPC rats showed up.

Obligatory Hi to Shura o/
Sometimes it might be worth undocking for the hell of it, I was once camped by a gang of three pirates outside station, so I called it a night, went to bed. Got up next day, had breakfast and a drink, watched the news, decided to go on the computer, surfed forums for 30 min, logged into eve, they were still sitting there outside the station.

Edited by: Shura''Sokoris on 26/06/2009 03:52:55 Edited by: Shura''Sokoris on 26/06/2009 03:48:47 On second thought, no, admitting that I asked my squadmate to do that probably wasn't the best thing to do...well, if my alt is no longer a working account, I'll know why.
In any case, yeah, that's what working 24+ hours in Iraq does to you, makes you lax and complacent about stuff that doesn't involve IEDs or mortars or your particular MOS (or job, what you do). Couple friends of mine were talking and it's agreed that in some ways and about certain things, deployment just makes everything else not matter as much. Namely, MMOs. >.>
Granted, I'm still upset that it'll take me 18 days to regain Battlecruisers 5, but eh. xD
There were a lot of things that could have been done better, right from the get go....still makes for one hell of a story. :P

Why did you ever apply to join CWRA shortly before undocking? Did you think it would be accepted and you could get out without notice?

Figured I'd have some fun while I was there.
Was gonna strike up a conversation just to make the situation even funnier (truth be told, despite the amount of "dudeyouaresof**ked" I was still dying of laughter) but they didn't say anything back. |
