Nobody know's new eden like capsuleers. Hell, we even know the planets better than the PSN guys who are currently running around on them. The majority of them have no idea the sheer scale of event that they are contributing too so how the hell can they appreciate, or better still, contribute to it any better than us eve guys.
Now, unlike many on this forum....i have only been playing eve since 2009. But this was the game i was looking for to make a subscription based game mean something to me and it broke my "ill never pay to play a game every month" mentality. its special. the people in it are special, yet you are giving the keys to the norm? And from the 5000 keys link earlier in the post....why the hell are SONY giving the damn keys out! you know they are just marketing right?

thats what they are doing in my eyes. yeh sure, its nice to have console guys and eve guys give the feedback to get a general opinion from both worlds of gaming (console and PC) but come on! earliest access should be the people who understand whats going on and actually know why they are moaning about something in the game if they feel it needs to be moaned about. its call CONSTRUCTIVE...which i do believe the method of distributing the keys is not.
now, i didnt buy a PS3 just for DUST. i play PC game, console games, mobile games. im just a gamer, i love to play games. so i dont feel cheated by investing in something like a PS3 or anything. but when i first heard about DUST514 in 2008....i wanted it...YESTERDAY! ive been following the dot on every "i" and stroke on every "t" since that fanfest in 2008 because as a tech head, as a gamer and as someone who has an imagination (which i believe you need to play something like eve) THIS EXCITES ME! instead though...you now have any tom, **** or harriot playing a beta of a game that you have spent years investing time. why? because sony gave them something new. and to them....new is good....for a while. Eve isnt a "for a while" thing. Halo and CoD are. Eve is forever. the people playing it get that. DUST is the next step in guaranteeing its immortality and people who can potentially get bored and kill it are get their hands on it first.
not the wisest decision.....
on a brighter note...i would like a key for two reasons. 1) i want one and 2) ill whip the guys who dont know eve into shape as best i can so that can put what they are looking at into context before they start bad mouthing like the moronic people many "shooter" people can be.
so....a key? PPPPPPPPPLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAASSSSSSEEEEEEEEEE?! :D |

I'm sure you got some amazing tears from that one. Not just the dust players but the CoD and BF3 kiddies who view these forums but can't post.

well.... i've only been following dust for a year now, maybe a year and a half.. not sure..
and i've only been playing eve for less than a year, really just to familiarize myself with the universe...
and i didn't buy my ps3 just to play dust...
but really.. aren't those all GOOD things? i've USED my ps3 (and my 360).. i'm a career console gamer. you name it i've played it... every halo, call of duty, and gears of war. recent medal of honors, and battlefields. not to mention the lesser known titles, wolfenstien, red faction, mag, army of two, and homefront. even a handfull of "hybrid" shooter titles like the mass effect trilogy, or alpha protocol.
and not only did i play them all.. i, at least roughly, understood them all..
i understand WHY the ump45 and the ACR were so ubiquitous in MW:2.. or the M16 before that in the original MW.
or how ballistic weapons and plasma weapons were more effective against health or shields respectively in halo.
i understand how guns in mag or battlefield don't necessarily hit their aimpoint, whereas in CoD they do.
even more importantly i understand the difference between "shooting a guy 10 times in the head!" and "shooting AT a guys head 10 times."
i'm good enough at shooters to actually play them, and play them well. yet still bad enough to understand that occasionally, i just get beat.. the game didn't lag, the gun wasn't op, i just lost.
i would say all of that makes me MUCH more qualified to participate in an fps beta, if not necessarily more ENTITLED to a dust code specifically.
i'm not so egomaniacal as to suggest the dust beta, and by extension dust, will fail without me. obviously i am just one man. i also understand there are likely MANY others equally or perhaps even MORE qualified than i, CCP should prolly grab them to..
i just figured i'd make MY case.. since so far i mostly see an entitlement argument, as opposed to a merit argument.

Been Playing Eve Since '06. Im ok at shooters. (actually im kinda fail, especially at console ones) But i bought a PS3 just so i could play Dust. I am Disabled and dont get out much, so i could sit around for the days the server is up and Test away. I also hang out in the IRC server hoping to score a code there as well. if anyone has one and is feeling generous that would be awesome.

I still would be really thankful to get one of the beta-keys.
I would like to help make the game better and not just play for fun. Writing critic's and so on. I know my english isn't that good, but I guess i could bring in good and constructive critic to make the beta worthy - somehow I will communicate my crtic (postive/negative) ^^.
So if someone can spent a beta-key my thanks are yours. (:
