I was wondering if high-sec piracy in terms of can-flipping still possible? I mean I know it is in terms of game mechanics, but are people still falling for it nowadays, or are more people falling for it now since the influx of new players?

This is something that is so easy to try and find out rather than posting on the forums for that its sickening.
Just remember, ignorance is eternal.

Still plenty of people in-game in chat that swear by it. Sounds like they've never had anything swiped from 'em. Maybe I'll take a stealth bomber out there and give 'em a taste of how risky it can be.

It still works, on the whole people seem have have become less stupid but at the same time they've also become richer. Meaning less targets but more juicy ones. The Orca didn't help though.

There's a lot of drama tactics to get the guy to steal back or to aggro. You may even get the odd Orca kill. It's tiresome though, if you're looking for a fight in high-sec, asking for 1 v 1s in trade hub local is usually better.

Or, you could try heading out to lowsec space, and picking targets that don't mind PvP.
Picking fights with nearly-helpless carebears just proves that you are a *****.
If I'm in Lowsec, and I lose a ship ratting because I was not fit nor prepared for a real fight, that's fair. But being harassed in High Sec is just lame.
That type of non-consensual PvP insures that those carebears will never visit lowsec.

It's a game mechanic (and not really an illogical one) and unless the victim is a complete moron, he will only fall for it once. Heck, it may even be just what the miner needed - the wish to do the same thing to someone else, and get that tingly sensation when someone takes the bait...
In the end, EVE (as well as all other games) is all about having an experience. In fact you're helping the person you're annihilating - he's getting an experience.

Who is "falling" for can flipping??
Can flippers do it to P`ss off carebears and have them take pop shots at them in mission fitted fail boats.
That is the point of this exercise grasshopper

How in the world did you get him with a Retribution? Did you forgo all propulsion mods and fit a scram? or was he just too stupid to warp away? I love the Retribution but never figured it would work in anything but gang pvp. I am curious as to your fit used here.

The guy was using 6 miners and 2 torp launchers with no damage mods shooting at an AF. I wouldn't be surprised if he had a hard time doing much damage.

Eww, so blurry. Looks like fun though.
