99 points, it needs a cyno on the field :) |

Why would you need a cyno? CCP will auto move everyone in the fleet to the target system. ------------------------------------------------ There are only two types of ships: those which have blown up; and those which will.

Sadly, last year the judges said they would disqualify us if we lit a cyno on the field.

Great. I'm almost tempted to say stop giving dates/timeframes for when you'll post rule changes or send out confirmations.

that doesn't seem wrong to you? It is a basic part of the tournament, releasing the full rules after sign ups close is low.

The rules as they stand are the rules.
The rules are subject to change all the way up until the tournament starts, and will change as and when I am happy with any changes and as and when I see fit to do so.
I could, if you wish, not discuss anything about upcoming rules changes, not discuss any of your feedback, and not answer any of your questions, so that you wouldn't get your hopes up and constantly ask for when something is going to happen; however, in the interests of keeping communication about the tournament open, I will not do that. I will however, make changes on my own schedule. If you are not happy with this, you are free to withdraw your Alliance Tournament application in protest.

We're on a schedule too, and you have said there will be points changes. These points changes need to be brought in asap. It's not fair to leave it to the last minute. We need time to work around any changes to the points.
He made a fair point, perhaps a little misworded but no need to go emo about it.

I agree that you should take your time with these decisions. However, I do think that we need to know what ships are going to be available to fly in the tournament now. Speicfically black ops. If you need to make minor point adjustments later, that is one thing, but it is very difficult to come up with comprehensive strategies if for example you don't know if Widow's will be allowed in the tourney.

Everytime the rules are changed most testing has be redone - I wouldn't worry about the rules being perfect, the game tends to even itself out on its own: take for example at V even with superoverpowered logistics a balance eventually created with counter logistics setup.

An application was not put in to withdraw, and it was not put in out of protest. The way the rules are, the tournament is a showcase of t3, not an Eve pvp tournament. I hope your rule changes put it more in line with the latter.
Also, I don't like the tone of your reply, it was not very cordial.

"I could completely and totally hose you over and exercise total power. Instead, I'm just partially hosing you over, and you should be happy about this. If you don't like the fact that I can partially hose you over, you can withdraw from the tournament, even though we build it up as a huge event every year and lots of folks watch it and judge groups on it."
Or in other terms, he could punch you in the face, but be happy with the sucker punch. :)

I disagree.
So there are a few things that haven't been completely solidified about the rules, big deal. "Oh, but all the ISK and time involved in setup and training cry cry cry" It's a freaking GAME dude!
And don't come crying about "I pay XXX$ a month to CCP, I'm the customer, they should jump to my requests, yadda yadda"
I pay, too. And I'm not the least bit upset or offended by CCP Claw's answer. Should they tend to their customers, of course! Should they submit to some nerd's whining and flaming on the forums? Hell no. If you want a better reply, then don't resort to flaming people. Be civil in your inquiries, and I can pretty much guarantee you that your reply from CCP will be just as polite.
