Hey guys, I want to get into PvP (Militia) and I fly a Punisher but I need some help with the loadout. Here's what I have so far
High:- Medium Beam Laser ll - Aurora s Medium Beam Laser ll - Aurora s
Mid:- Cap Recharger ll Cold-Gas l Archjet Thrusters
Low:- Damage Control ll Small Armor Repairer ll Adaptive Nano plating ll 50MM Reinforced Nano fiber Plates l
So, a good or a bad set up?

If you are joining the Amarr or Caldri, that is a awesome set up..If you will be fighting for Minmatar or Gallente then go check out the ship and module forums or http://eve.battleclinic.com/browse_loadouts.php

You're going to want to get rid of the Beam Lasers.
Go for 3 small pulses, either dual light pulse II or gatling pulse II
A small nos in your last high slot if you can fit it
Afterburner is OK
Warp Scrambler probably in the other mid
Lows do something like damage control, small armor repper, biggest plate you can fit, and perhaps another resist in the lows, or a damage mod if it'll fit.
When using T2 small pulses, carry scorch (decent dps at moderate ranges) and multifrequency (amarr navy multifrequency if you can afford it) for higher dps at short ranges.

Don't know if you can use other weapon systems yet but the Punisher can work with them all as it gets no bonus to weapon type. I prefer blasters on mine. This I use solo.
High - 3 x Light Ion Blasters II (Void S/CN Antimatter S), 1 x Small Nos II
Mids - 1 x AB II, 1 x J5b Phased Prototyper Warp Scrambler I
Lows - 1 x DC II, 1 x Small Armour Rep II, 1 x Magnetic Field Stab II, 1 x Co Processor I
This one is more small gang.
High - 3 x Light Neutron Blaster II (Void S/CN Antimatter S)
Mids - 1 x AB II, Warp Scram II
Lows - 2 x MFS II, 1 x Co Processor I, 1 x Nanofiber Internal Structure II

If you want to fit energy guns, use pulses. You probably want Dual Light Pulse Lasers (rather than Medium Pulse Lasers), because the first are easier to fit. Beams are very tough to fit.
A famous Punisher fit is the "Bleeder", which uses Projectile guns (rather than lasers) and a small Nosferatu for improved cap stability. The trouble with lasers is that their mechanics (high optimal, near-zero fall-off, meagre tracking) make them very effective for mid-range engagements, while with frigates you'll often be at either a point-blank orbit, or at long range avoiding enemy scrams and neuts. Lasers really start shining (ha-ha) when fit on bigger ships. If you intend to keep flying Punishers for a while, you may consider cross-training to small projectile guns.
Afterburner in the mids is a good choice, will help capacitor stability and keep you signature radius down. You may try both a disruptor or srambler, both can work depending on situation.
Lows are pretty good, but I suggest you pick easier to fit guns (see above) and try slapping 200mm plates (preferably rolled tungsten) on them.
Example 'bleeder' fit, with projectile guns:
[Punisher, Bleeder] Small Armor Repairer II Damage Control II Adaptive Nano Plating II 200mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I
Warp Scrambler II 1MN Afterburner II
E5 Prototype Energy Vampire 200mm AutoCannon II, Republic Fleet EMP S 200mm AutoCannon II, Republic Fleet EMP S 200mm AutoCannon II, Republic Fleet EMP S
If you insist on using energy guns, try something like this. It's cap stable without the repper running.
[Punisher, energy guns] Damage Control II Adaptive Nano Plating II Small Armor Repairer II 200mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I
Warp Disruptor II 1MN Afterburner II
Gatling Pulse Laser II, Amarr Navy Multifrequency S Gatling Pulse Laser II, Amarr Navy Multifrequency S Gatling Pulse Laser II, Amarr Navy Multifrequency S E5 Prototype Energy Vampire
(bring Scorch S ammo too, Energy guns insta-swap ammo so you start the engagement using Scorch, then switch to AN Multi when you get in close) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Keep in mind that using an afterburner means that you have to suprise your target, especialy if you plan to engage mwd cruisers, or they will simply kite you to death.

Marc Isabel has posted probabaly the 2 best fits in this thread or you can use the 400mm plate one if you want from the guy just above. Seriously thought theres some terrible stuff posted in this thread so far so be careful if your using any of the others.
