I've been running level 4s with a dominix for a few weeks now and am starting to get serious about my drone skills. I have drone interfacing V and t2 light and medium drones but now i need to decide whether to train to t2 heavies or sentries first. I've been learning towards sentries with one or 2 omni's but am i missing something?
I'll train t2 heavies eventually, but am i making a mistake by not training them first?
thanks for the help

if your doing missions in a domi, id go with sentries. sit in one spot and everything dies around you. I take it you don't loot/salvage with the domi while running missions as it takes freakin forever to get to the wrecks.

ya, i have a dedicated salvage ship. I tried to salvage with the domi while my drones killed stuff, but it just seems to take too long.

Sentries.
...this doesn't even seem to be a regular case of rats fleeing the sinking ship. Seems more like the rats are on fire, the ship is on fire, and the sea is full of drunk Russians. - Jacob Etienne |

If you have drone skills, go sentry and then 2x omni tracking links on a dual lar tanked ship... You will thank me later. ------- "Because the Dominix is the Chuck Norris of Eve!" |

Sentries are better than ogre IIs if you are using a DPS boat. The Ogres are for blaster ships to augment their DPS, Drone boats should try and snipe.

T2 Sentries are really the awesomest of drones if you want to carry about optimal, tracking AND if you can fit at least two Omnidirectional Tracking Devices. T2 Heavies are great if you just want to semi-afk missions without thinking. But yeah, you are obviously interested in my post because you're now reading my signature. |

Edited by: AzKing Mobreal on 13/07/2009 03:44:15 any recommendations for sentries? I've been using 3 gardes and 2 curators right now so i can keep a flight of ogres around just in case. Flying missions for the khanid navy so lot of sansha and blood raiders.
kindof wish i could snipe better, but i'm worried about resistances. Should i worry more about range then damage type?

for blood/sansha 5 garde II 5 curator IIs assorted medium/lights
for guristas you will want warden IIs instead of curator IIs.

Hey do skills like Amarr Drone Specialization affect sentry drones? Looks like the racial drone specialization skills only effect heavies, etc

Sentries don't get bonus from racial drone specialization skills.
I went heavy drone V first for pvp. Would definitely go sentries for pve though.
