To be "Aggression Flagged" a.k.a "flashy red" in Eve means you have done something "bad".
Okay, I've read the page, but this is connected with a timer event. There are also still colours red, orange, green which are constant and have no timer.
Green = my fellow corp member
Orange = someone who has stolen from a fellow corp member
Red = ?
I'm not sure I understand the distinction between "flashy red" & "still red"!
Can someone explain please?

If you are referring to the timers in the top left corner:
Red means global crim flag, youve shot something you shouldn't have Yellow means, something can shoot you without crim flagging.
If you are referring to overview states, then these are editable and who knows what the default is these days.
Green is corp Purple is gang Blue is alliance Yellow is negative sec status Flat red is outlaw? Flashy red is flagged? _______________

orange is negative sec, or negative standings red is negative-er sec, or negative-er standings
Flashy red means you can shoot without concord intervention (not without consequences, you might get shot back at). Various reasons for flashy red exist, all pretty irrelevant, cause you get to shoot stuff.
You're still in SAcK! Spell that, HAH!

Outlaw means he's an outlaw, a universal criminal. You don't have your own justice system to have outlaws, CONCORD does. You only have people you dislike.

so it's possible for a flashy red to lose colour after a time interval and return to a clear background in the overview panel?
many thanks...

Oh, yeah, totally! If he's flashy only to you, and/or your corp it'll only last about half an hour. If he's flashy, cause he's at war with you it lasts till the war ends. If he's flashy cause he engaged in a criminal act it's...also 30 minutes? If he's flashy cause his sec status is below -5 or so it'll last till he gets his act together, repents his sins, and finds a can of spam.

It's OK, at least half the information given so far has been incorrect/outdated and/or misleading so it's not as helpful as it might appear at first glance.

If I shoot somebody in lowsec or 0.0 I will not be able to use gates due to criminal flag.. How long is this timer, and secondly why is this timer not made visible ? Just wondering.. ;)

OK this is how it works nwith standard settings from CCP installation. Be advised I have not mentioned anything about faction standings
Green = Corp Member Purple = Fleet member Yellow with Skull = Concord security standing of upto -5 (A potential OUTLAW) Red Flashing White skull = Concord Security standing of -5 to -10 (AN OUTLAW) Red Flashing White Star = War Target - Kill on site or run for your life Light Blue + = +5 standings to you or to the Corp/Alliance. Dark Blue + = +10 standings to you or to the Corp/Alliance. Yellow/Orange - = -5 standings to you or to the Corp/Alliance. Red - = -10 Standings to you or to the Corp/Alliance.
OUTLAWS Outlaws are the Red Flashing white skulls These are pilots with a -5 to -10 standings or a temp outlaw (e.g. Can Flipper) you can Kill on sight and get no negative concord standings. but be aware once you attack him he can attack you. OUTLAW WARNING - Can flippers will flip a can and warp away then come back 13min and 30 seconds later. You attack him and you are now red flashy to him he can attack you. You call in the fleet or friends and they all see him as a neutral and cant help you as his aggression timer is over from the crime he did by flipping the can. The red flashing you see is a personal aggression timer which you and he sees only.
Personal or Corp/Alliance standings. These are standings that are set by You personally or by your corp or alliance. this means that if you get can flipped and you say that you want to know when that person is arround in local you can set that person to to a personal standing. e.g. -5 for the first can flip or -10 for the second etc... Now you can do this with a pilot or you can also make the corp/alliance have a personal negative or positive standing.
With a PErsonal standing you are the only person who see's this. however if your corp/ alliance has a problem with the said person or Corp/Alliance then the management of your corp or alliance can set a corp or alliance standing. By doing this your whole corp will see that person, Corp or Allaince withthe same settings.
Glitch - if you set an alliance with a standing it does not populate to the corperations in that allinace. so what you need to do is to go to each corp in that alliance and set each corp to the same stadnings.
WARNING when you set a personal, Corp OR alliance setting this does not mean that you can attack these pilots in High or low sec without taking a Concord Security Hit. The only way to kill these people without being concorded is to go to 0.0 Yes you can attack in Lowsec but do this away from any gate guns also you will get a Sec Hit.
Personal standings and Mining. If you want to mine with out of corp alts or pilots. You will need to set your ALt or pilot to a +10 Standing. If you do this then he can take from your can without going red flashy.
Overview Settings Now what you need to do is setup your overview settings to allow you to see Blues above reds. (Dependant of how friendly you are with your Blues) The last thing you want to do is to kill a corp mate or a friendly because they are Red Flashy Outlaw as the setting is above in the list. search for overview settings to help you more

The only thing that stops you using gates is a 60-second aggression timer that runs when you aggress someone.
You can jump through gates whilst under a Global Criminal Countdown (GCC), however in low-sec the gate sentries will light you up on sight.
As of a recent patch outlaws are no longer flashy red on the default overview settings, they're just solid red. If you haven't changed your overview settings flashy red = war targets. Solid red can either be an outlaw (red to everyone) or someone who has aggressed you (red to you).
The only practical difference between solid red and flashy red is that in high-sec flashy red WTs can shoot you first if they so choose, whereas an outlaw cannot (unless you've aggressed them).

You might want to change that post as you just admitted to violating the EULA. It's a bannable offense.
+1 helpful poast here - I'd tell you why but then I'll have to kill you. And to kill you I'd have to log in. And to log in I'd have to stop browsing these forums. Both you and me knows that'll never happen. |
