Hello,
Well, I am back (hopefully if I can get the bugger to work) from a long Eve vacation. I was finally enticed by the 5 day reactivation so I DL'd the client and got "Server Status Unknown", so I ignored it having seen it before and tried logging in...and failed...many times. So I start messing around with firewall settings and security settings on my computer and nothing works. I reinstalled the client and tried to load the patch but it said the build is already compatible so I doubt it is that. I browsed a few threads on various forums and deleted norton 360 and disabled windows firewall. It still refuses to work. I ran the ping test and that ping program that was suggested and no problems on any of those. The only thing left that I can imagine is the router itself is blocking something. I doubt that is the case since I am on a college network. One that allows basically everything...Including Wow, which I angrily glance over my shoulder to see people playing in the computer lab on lab computers while I can't even get Eve to run on my laptop. Please, PLEASE, if anyone out there knows a fix for this that I have not explored yet post a response!! I also disabled anti-virus software, allowed access to port 26000 in the two recomended configurations and like I said, everything suggested by the CCP employees in the threads I have read on this topic. It seemed to happen in early 2008, so I don't know why I am having this problem now.
Thanks,
-Oz

I have exactly the same problem for few days. Vista x64 Ultimate machine. Never had a problem in the past. I get Server status Unknown, even if anything else working over the Internet.

Turns out it was the school's network blocking it because eve works perfectly at home. Hear that, CCP? CSN allows people to play WoW on their network but not Eve. Send them angry letters!!!!>:(
