Is there one? Didnt see one in the stickies.
Something simple for determining which reactions are worth doing at all, with what sort of margins?

None are its the joke skll of the year meant to "fix" an upper limit on prices for certain materials. Materials which dont go near those upper limits

Current alchemy numbers are based on values pre-POS exploit, and are thus complete rubbish and utterly useless.
Alchemy is currently just another cool but broken feature.

Am I missing something, or is this just the troll response of the month? Alchemy allows you to replace an r64 material with a more common material in a reaction. By saying "current alchemy numbers", I assume you mean the ratio of whatever in-ok, to be realistic-the ratio of Cadmium in to the ratio of whatever you're making out was based on the production of dysprosium and promethium produced by all of those moons in the game, in a manner designed to keep the price of dyspro/promethium lower, but also designed to not make them go too low. Yes?
Now, T2 things being consumable like they are, why does the old moon mining bug have any impact on alchemy today and now? r64 moon production rates are exactly what CCP planned them to be at the current time. So why is the copy/paste response always "ALCHEMY SUX BLAME POS EXPLOIT"? Sure, alchemy might be worthless still but....(serious question)why is some old bug to blame?

It doesn't even put the 'high' upper limit on the prices, because the materials needed to put the limit on it are finite and increase in price perpetually raising that limit as needed so it will never be reached.
Certainly alchemy becomes profitable well before it becomes useful.

Edited by: El Liptonez on 18/07/2009 19:41:44 Alchemy is quite profitable. Half a bil isk per month using a single simple reactor is what I call profitable. Don't think there's a spreadsheet tho, but there is some pdf that shows what you react with which material to get something. Just google it. And iirc all reactions are making profit.

Well I have a cad moon and want to maximize the profits. But when I run the numbers it seems a tiny bit more for more effort. I'm rather new to POSs but the calculation can't be too complex
market value of inputs vs market value of output:
100 cad + 100 mercury/whatever - > 10 dyspro + 95 mercury?

Edited by: zzbooks on 28/07/2009 10:28:51 when I run the numbers there is considerably more profit for slightly more effort for cadmium and chromium reactions |
