Except that you failed to read the sticky, in particular rule #3 : "The character being sold must receive the ISK for the purchase".

no step out the way mam i have a job to do.
man i so hope he was purchasing isk, i mean i like to be proven wrong but would be cherry sweet if i was right :)
Given the fact that he/she completely ignored my post, which was undoubtedly the one with the most insight on the situation, probably means he's an ISK buyer. Going to the forum to post this means he/she is unsure of whether he/she is getting their isk back, while the common response if one was legit would be to sit and wait patiently for the problem to be fixed. If it truly is an error or misunderstanding, it's only a matter of time before GMs fix it. Going to the forums is nothing short of a pathetic QQ or attempt to cover up illegitimate activities and gain support from posters. It serves no real purpose.
I'm awaiting the GM smackdown. C'mon Nova, don't disappoint.

I just spent half an hour googling for that and found it the hard way I'm gonna bookmark it now since this issue comes up regularly
Also have look at Prism X's posts in that thread, he was really trying to be helpful to the OP.
Edit: I also found this post by GM Guard going into details about the removal of a Titan acquired with bought isk. Not nearly as great as GM Nova's post though.

Edited by: Sarabug on 19/07/2009 17:45:55 Astrophobic,
I appreciate your response on the topic. I apologize if you feel as though I'm ignoring you, but I'm doing my best not to get involved with banter back and forth. I have a legitimate problem and have taken your advice and am implimenting it as we speak.
My objective here was not to bash CCP. My objective is to see if this was common, and to find out the best approach to handle this type of thing.
I understand that they have alot of petitions in front of them, and I understand that computers flag potential seller/buyers.
I'm just looking for some guidance as to the procedures to follow when it comes to dealing with something likes this. I will keep you up to date on my situation and I will personally be the first to tell you if this holds up and there is justification for their actions. However, let me reiterate that I think this was an oversight.
We are customers... and I have invested a bit of money with CCP. So...
Hope your day stays as uneventful as it obviously is so far.

Originally by: Denny Haze Wait, you purchased a character, and then had the isk earned from the purchase removed? There is something very backwards there, I just can't see it clearly. Can you?
This is what I understood from what the OP posted. If it's not accurate, the OP should clarify.
He bought GTCs from official EVE GTC retailers. He converted GTCs to PLEX from the game client. He sold the PLEX on the market for ISK. As per current character transfer rules, he transfered the ISK to the character being purchased. Then, that character (still with the old owner's account) transfered the ISK to one of the character seller's alts. After that, the character was transfered to the OP's account with a 20 USD/EUR fee paid by the former owner to CCP. Some time later, his wallet goes negative because a GM mistook some of it all for RMT for some reason.
Clearer now ?
Except you do not transfer the ISK to the character being bought, but to another designated in the sales topic. Also, if you transferred the ISK to that character, who then transferred it on to another character you would not be an ISK buyer, but and ISK seller, which would get you banned. And since the real money goes to CCP, not a shady someone else (which CCP wouldn't ever know of) there is no RMT involved, which would violate the EULA. And since you seem to claim your newly bought character is accused of being a middle-man why would it end up being with a negative wallet? Something, probably most of your story stinks

The procedure is "petition and wait". "Don't post on the forums about it" could be added to that (it doesn't help you and it may hurt you - though it might also provide entertainment )

Alexeph,
If it wasn't for the character bazaar, how would any of the high sp. players have any competition. People get burned out and quit playing... thus, leaving you all alone. This would lead to market monopolies... ohhhh now I get it... you get to rule New Eden.
You people seem to misunderstand my intent. I have nothing against the buying and selling of characters - as long as you call them characters, not "toons". -----

Easy way to solve it. Start from scratch and put in the hard work. Dont cheat and buy a character. its like using a second hand hooker. My Toons die with me. dont give me that well how else are you meant to compete with higher SP players. SP is only a statistic, player skill/fitting is more important. this mindset in new players is getting on my nerves Join the brown Coats today!!! |

You are arguing a moral opinion. The buying and Selling of characters is allowed by CCP, the game owners. Thus it is not as you state, cheating. You might as well be arguing that using missiles is cheating because they can be fired from greater distances.

LMAO, I remember that thread.
I remember all the ones that didn't get "pwned" by a GM. I even remember the ones where they got resurrected and the OP says "CCP apologised".
