And he has baaaaaddddd standings! ;)
Lupynzo is only -1.95 with InterBus before adding diplomacy, and Interbus is friendly to both Amarr and Caldari. So it could be your way out. And if there's no storylines (of that I'm not sure), it's just... longer grind
With regular missions you only get corporate standing.
No stroyline -> No faction gain -> no derived faction gain with the other factions.
Useless.

doesnt doing factional warfare on the side of caldari/amarr (assuming you join a player corp) help increase faction standings?

Cant you just kill the rats which the faction likes the least? I allways thought that would help. Just go to corresponding npc 0.0 and kill ahead...

Might work if the factional warfare corp accepts the OP's application and its standings composition after 7 days doesn't go below 0.5 Worst case scenario, just corp hop every 7 days. Bad thing about this, funnily enough, you will be KOS in all empire highsec
Slightly offtrack, I wonder if the game checks for the 0.5 standing and kicks the corp out automatically if it goes below that value. If it doesn't and works like the rigs install mechanic, well then, there's the solution. |

Yes it does, or you could have griefing corps (shooting own militia) un-expellable from FW.
To add to the thread the OP can fail storyline mission for gallente/minmatar/sisters of eve too afaik. -- 081014 : emoragequit, char transfered to a friend, 090317 : back to original owner blog |

Unfortunately this no longer works. It used to, many, many months ago, but it was changed by CCP. I think the factional warfare option is the only way to go...

Hmmmm.
Two questions/Suggestions
1- Can you join a corp with UltraHigh Caldari Standing? Will this enable you to do Caldari Missions ?
2- Doing fleet missions will help you grind Caldari Corp standings. Can you grind it until you have high enough standing so you can do missions with them in solo? (Can a Corp standing counter-effect the Faction standing?)

No to both.
You need personal, modified faction standing higher than -2 to access any corporation in a faction.

Wow...
and the Faction Warfare approach... is there a way out with that?
My Toon is approching the point of no return for Amarr and Caldari also, but not quite there yet, but was wondering

As long as you don't do missions against Amarr / Caldari then your faction standings can't drop below -5.0. At -5.0 Diplomacy 5 takes your standing to -2.0, allowing you access to the lowest quality level 1 agents and thus a way back. The problem occurs when you drop below -5.0 unadjusted.

Factional warfare seems to be the only feasible way out at this point in time, with a small catch. The journey will be long and painful however as you only gain faction standing by gaining ranks. If you're too deep with negative standings, even the highest rank may not help.
See here for that bit on rank.

Originally by: Tom Peeping I've never tried, but I was under the impression that standings could be regained... for example if gallente/min standings were bad, you could mission for sisters of eve... and get a standings improvement for gallente/min, though a corresponding decrease in amarr/cald. I was under the impression that it was an EXTREMELY slow process, but that there were roundabout ways to "fix" standings issues like this if you were very determined?
Is this incorrect? If this info was incorrect, I'd really like to know as one of my mains is just about to hit that -5 mark versus 2 of the factions.
I have seen this myself - grinding SOE missions makes my Caldari/Amarr standings worse. Caldari gets worse than Amarr, now at -5.10 cal and -3.95 Amarr.
I saw the Mordus Legion mentioned, what I find also wierd is that I have agents in Guristas available to me, but Blood Raiders hate me, yet Guristans are not on the outs with Blood Raider.
The faction system in this game is wierd.
Anyone have a chart or listsing on hand for what you need to do when you go past -5, lets one lose a ship to faction navy unexpectedly.
I mean, that's all I care about, since I really don't want to be on the good sides of neither the gun-banning fascistic Caldari nor the enslaving religious fanatic Amarr.
Gallente all the way baby! I want my guns and **** and I want to use them before I even get the stuff back to the hangar.

As I understand things running Sisters of Eve missons should drop you down to a low of -1 Amarr and -0.25 Caldari. If you're going lower than that then your problem is that you are killing Amarr and Caldari ships. If you stop doing that, by turning down missions that require you to kill them, then your faction standings will stabilize. Note that ship kills can cause a huge loss of standing; -2% standing from one single ship kill is not uncommon.

NPCs don't like it if you blow their unmanned guns/batterys/structures up, altho not too bothered if you slaughter 1000s of their ship-crew citizens ..... :)

to the OP, I have a similar problem but am negative to Gallentte but worked hard to grind with RSS to make Min neutral so I can move my standings enough to not get shot at :)
From your standings chart, the best route might be as a previous poster said, Mordu's who have excellent standing to caldari and ok with Concord... just need to find someone who can get missions for you to begin with (and kill everything Gall and Min yourself) your standings with them will take a hit, but you might be able to start missioning with concord then..eventually amarr or caldari (after a long grind)
Someone did the math on the derived faction standings, and it is just impossible to have high faction standing with everyone... and as your chart points out if you are +10 to one faction, you are doomed to -5 with at least one other. Getting good standings with one corp in all the empire factions is about the only way to moderate this, but it won't eliminate the problem. Psychotherapy is expensive, Bubble wrap is cheap. |

Edited by: Goa Vibe on 22/07/2009 03:25:14 try all Concord, mordu, ore, soe, thukker as they have SL agents. running their SL will start bumping up caldari, gallente...
once you get one of those factions above -2 you start running that faction and have it's SL mission start trickling into the next faction you want to work up past -2.
is their a npc pirate faction whose missions you can run to bring up the semi-outlaw factions (thukker)
example: run thukker to get minmatar to -2. run minmatar til gallente is -2, that will get you a good foothold in hi-sec space.
is it a known fact that running 16 missions for Interbus which is the sole corp it's own faction Interbus, the SL will be passed to the nearest corp with a SL that has good standings for Interbus? (SOE, Gallente)

Well, I can't find agents for Concord either. Concord or InterBus would be my only way out...they just don't have any agents/storyline agents. The standings isn't the problem either, I think my standings for CN are about 2.5+, its just that my faction standings are so messed up.

haha i love eve for this sometimes. It's actually very in tune with real life in that if you shoot enough faction ships eventually, they dont like you :P
Remember kids, if you get a mission that shows the enemy as amarr/caldari/gallente/minmitar, decline it, that way you can't loose standings.

But I don't like the Caldari anyway. And the Amarr? Ever base in one their thair stations? Those drunk monks singing all the time. They couldn't carry a tune if you nailed it to them - and believe me I would love an opportunity to try.
Gallente stations are best. The only drawback is that the floors are sticky.

I don't know if this would work, but what if you join a buddy for non-storyline missions for that empire? You won't get empire standing, but if I understand correctly you will get corp standing, which will eventually let you take missions for that corp and earn storyline missions of your own. |

No. All agents from any particular faction stops talking to you if your faction standing falls below -2.0 (after being modified by Diplomacy). It's a pointless effort. |
