The big bad powerful Morus Mihi came into our poor low sec home with their stealth bomber gang... how can we possibly defend against these PVP space holding gods under Beyond Virginity Alliance tag...
200m in stealth bombers and a poorly fit inty later they run away... really trying to gank a hurricane in a stealth bomber and sitting still doesnt help the wallet.

Either sord out a better selection system or start taking REAL alliances into account more properly.
omg, you are whining because your blob doesnt count in the tournament??? what makes you think the ppl want to watch matches where your alliance take part? just because you can blob alot doesnt mean you are good in this game. do you really think anyone wants to watch your misery rather than watching some of the skilled and smaller alliances?
the answer is gonna suprise you: no.

Perhaps CCP could be persuaded to create a 'Junior Alliance Tournament' for Eve's younger players, and Morsus Mihi could enter that? ------------------------------------

Edited by: Too Dangerous on 22/07/2009 09:51:44 Have to agree. This (not really) Alliance tournament is quite the farce.
Creating short term alliances just to enter and then selling the spots - quite ridiculous for ccp to allow that tbh.
Perhaps CCP should introduce a 2nd tournament that really is for alliances - novel idea huh.
Heck next year ill create a dozen or so (so called) alliances and that way i can win the tournament without even having to PVP.

some good action is prefered and i think RAWR can provide that better than Banzai boys, the tea idiots and the 10 other alliances _noone_ cares about.
the team list has never looked that horrible, its gonna be a **** ass boring tourney this year.
we might aswell be missing PL or tri if they had an unlucky year
And people care about RAWR? At least this year the little guy is getting a chance to represent himself, and one normally finds that the smaller alliances give a better fight than the larger ones as they have so much more to prove.
Originally by: Larkonis Trassler
Oh boy. Plenty of these 'so called' alt Alliances have been created by well known and 'relevant' corporations who have far more PVP skill than certain bloated 0.0 entities. But that's not the issue.
screw the little guy, this tourney is made to give grand battles, something to watch for the entire eve community and actually yield some kind of competition in it. thats not even the point, our own fine little CSM delegate here is selling his spot aswell - http://www.eve-search.com/thread/1123900/page/1 so is this really about the little guy.. or you making 25 billion?
this random choosing thing has only allowed market pvp'ers to buy a spot in the AT and then sell it for 1200% profit to someone who isnt announced, that surely completes the randomness when 5 un-announced alliances (probably morsus mihi too) show up to september.
we could maybe rename the "random alliance choosing" to "buy your AT spot on eve-o forums, only rich ppl allowed"
next year ill get on the race as everyone else.. make 5 alt alliances, sign up for AT and sell it for 125 billion \o/ now thats something that promotes "the little guy".
if you really think the little guys, who has absolutely no alliance history, no alliance tourney experience, no viable alliance to be able to fund a hell of a fight, is gonna show they got _nothing_ except something to prove... but maybe we will see them prevail, like the little guys last year who failed miserably, except at showing "atleast we are not KIA"
this tournament will go down drain... and voting Larkonis for CSM was the first mistake, the rest is ccp's fault. eod !

or maybe just enter 2 alt alliances, compete with myself and let them fly in circles around each other for 20mins..
2bil is cheap for signing up my own "free-win" alliance too, fixed battles in boxing are the best too

there whining is true.. bigger well'er(is that a word?) known alliances should have a better shot. i mean MM is pretty well known. but who are these?
Scooty Puff Junior Alliance LEM Alliance Hellstrome Alliance In Tea We Trust Beyond Virginity-rings some bell somewhere Coalition of Carebear Killers The Blanket Men T o r m e n t u m Interstellar Alcohol Conglomerate Blade. ..... any many more! I know i haven't heard of most of these alliances on this list... i want to see the big alliances that actually matter fighting each other in the alliance tournament. maybe this is just me but really. You guys cry when MM cries about not getting but if Goonies or if PL or someone big like that didn't get in either they would whine too. "The Die are cast" |

Big alliances don't matter if you have a "large" 5000 man alliance and can only get about 50 active they are 1% efficient where as a "small" 250 man alliance who get 50 people active are instead 20% efficient ... sadly this is normally the case for many big alliance as they are alt and inactive heavy.
Also if the better known alliance want to duke it out delve is ready for the taking.
tl:dr learns eve and get over it already.

Once again the main reason for the greatest discussions is EvE not been fair. Well, what the f... is fair in EvE for that matter? Since the day one it's been all about lagfest, ninjas, 'smart' use of game mechanics and etc., and how ppl get confused from the Eve's cruel reality. This one is just another shiny example that EvE is nothing but a clone of how things are in the real world. Unfair, unkind and enjoyed by few, by those that can adapt and those whose mommies and daddies adapted. However, EvE is certainly one of those things that can and has to evolve like all others, and so must this turney. With each passing year there are more and more ppl/alliances that can/want/will play it and thus CCP has to take that into consideration. I for one agree with the poster that these rules don't follow the evolution of the EvE community, hence only 1 thing to do: it's time for EVE Alliance Tournament t2. "Those that care not for the sting of the Scorpion are either reckless or stupid. And usually dead." |

total bs. what does sov or member count have to do with ANYTHING in the tournament ? you want it to matter, but it doesnt and shouldnt.
its about who is better at pvp within the parameters of the tournament rules. imo a wolfpack of bydi or invicta would wipe the floor with you. they are not big space holding alliances. if they chose to compete, what is wrong with them creating an alliance for that purpose ?
if you dont allow them to create a temporary alliance for the purpose of competing, the competition is a joke because all you have done is proved who is the best out of the less skilled, not who is really the best.

i agree i have no problem with that creating an alliance to compete but to add more chance of getting in or for profit is wrong personally i will be watching those alliances that have no space and small alliances as i think they stand a good chance its always good to cheer for the underdog and they can cause some upsets

Wait... i didnt bother to read this entire thread... cause lets face it its long. But why does MM want to join this anyways... u guys are aware that u have to fight with even numbers... so when u all warp out once you realize that its a fair fight, thats gonna kind of make the entry fee a waste isnt it? Or did i miss some loophole in the alliance rules that allows titans?

I really hope that you just copypasta'd your list and didn't actually read it, because if you did look at it then you're made of fail.
Goodfellas doesn't exist? Where were you guys when the NC lost Deklein to BoB? If you recall, Goodfellas held that region for a few months until TCF took it back.
Systematic-Chaos? Sc0rched Earth? Have you not looked at a sov map in the last year?
Also the Important Internet Spaceship League obviously exists, I'm a member of it. :P And we are active, we are not some silly alt alliance: http://bdeal.eve-kill.net/?a=home
I think it's pretty sad that me, a member of some pirate alliance based out of Placid, knows more about 0.0 politics than some fail pilot in Morsus Mihi. :P

Theres one thing I have never figured out (because we always have this debate in every tourney) why dont the tournament organizers just allow more teams. It is really really simple, I mean really simple.
1. Open up the sign-ups, up the entering fee to 5-10 billions or something. No refunds for anyone. 2. Decide the schedule and the tournament system based on the quantity of sign-ups. 3. Profit.
When you have already decided the system and the number of spots in the tourney, wou will never be able to make everyone happy. The ones that dont make it, will always be ****ed off.
On another note, I dont get all the hurf blurfing now, after the draw. The rules of the draw were made clear to anyone so not beeing in the tourney should be such a shocker. Everyone knew that people were going to make bogus alliances in order to get in, everyone knew that someone would try to sell their spot. Players should have addressed their issues when the sign-up rules were published, when there was actually time to make changes to the system. |
