Almost 500 people have died in Arnon within the past 24 hours. More than any other system by far.
Good to know the newbies know how to die now. |

That was always one of the best parts of the Planetside tutorials back in the day before they removed them (the following scene is recreated from rather inaccurate memories).
Game commentary: "Today's lesson is spawning and gearing up. You are standing in a spawn tube and in front of you are equipment terminals. Use them to select some gear and exit the room through the door on your right."
[some fiddling with equipment later]
Game commentary: "Just approach the door to open it and…" Doorcamping ScatterMAX: BOOM-CHAKA-BOOM-CHAKA-BOOM-CHAKA
Game commentary: "Yes, ehrm. This will happen quite often. You have died. Press the respawn button to go back to the tube and try again, and this time, choose another exit." |

Ahh Planetside, had such potential.
As for the possibility of a war, it is possible, but Arnon is far above any other system. Even Jita is barely over 100. |

I miss the days before the 'Alliance P' nerf. 1200+ deaths in Jita daily. |

Regardless of why so many people keep exploding in Arnon, the benefits of forced death have been discussed in the past. Seems most people, myself included, don't see what an unavoidable ship death in your newb boat actually teaches people. If the game wanted to teach new players about risk then the training arc would send people through Low Sec with a simple warning about player pirates and congratulate them if they survived and reminded them of the perils if they didn't. |

I used eve-search to find out what is going on in that Arnon system. It's hilarious 490 ships exploded in the last 24 hours. That Sister Alitura is one mean ***** if you ask me

It teaches them that a ship is just a ship, and to make sure to have plenty more.

It teaches several new mechanics and is worth every ship death.

Edited by: Sheriff Jones on 28/07/2009 09:47:18 What AURA should be saying to any rookie pilot is;
Repeat after me!
This is my petition button! There are many like it, but this one is mine! My petition button is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my skills. Without me, my petition button is useless. Without my petition button I am useless. I must press my petition button true. I must whine louder than my enemy, who is trying to grief me. I must petition him before he petitions me. I will. Before CCP I swear this creed: my petition button and myself are defenders of my account, we are the masters of our enemy, we are the saviors of my ships. So be it, until there are no griefers, but peace. Amen.

Heh heh. I remember one of my first days in EVE I came accross a can full of goodies. I sat there with the contents window open, staring at 5000 Navy Antimatter charges and other niceties for about 30 minutes trying to convince myself that this was not a trap ;)
Didnt touch it.

My first time in Jita:
'I'm leaving the game..blah..blah..send me ISK and I'll treble it...Im honest Guvnor you can trust me..blah blah..!!!'
I thought is was some joker having fun until I read on the forums 'This game is terrible there are scammers they should be banned!' and realised some players really fall for it.
