Resolution: 1680x1050 A Gallente woman watches anxiously as a battle begins outside her station window.
I just finished doing a Gallente version of my previous Amarr wallpaper. I like to keep them observational rather than in the depth of combat etc, as I feel that there is another side to EVE. Hopefully it provokes mood etc, Hope you enjoy.

Interesting to look at, and a very different view of Eve. I salute your skills

Edited by: Rantherhin Agethon on 28/07/2009 16:08:00 I do like how you make them observational. It does add another side to EVE. A few comments on the Gallente wallpaper though, it feels enclosed, instead of a vast open universe. Another thing, although just a matter of opinion, I really liked how in the Amarr wallpaper the observer was anonymous. Still a very nice and talented work. Keep it up and get us a Minmatar one already :D

I really like the mood and 'enclosed' feeling actually. It's like she feels sad, maybe she's stranded or something bad is happening outside.
Also, although I hate to be negative, something about the reflection looks a little off. It's like her reflection is sitting at a 90 degree angle to her.

heh thanks. Yeah I know what you mean, although it should be roughly 90 degrees as she's looking to the left through the window at a 45 degree angle. It's just really hard to achieve that 'feel' whilst trying to project 3D in a 2D environment. I'm glad you like that, I was aiming for the 'enclosed' feeling, like she's helpless stuck inside whilst a battle enrages in a vast universe outside. It's one of those, 'you make what you make of it' kind of things.
Thanks again,

Thanks Each to their own eh :) was just saying I was aiming for an enclosed feeling to highlight the vast'ness outside. I've got a great idea for the Minmatar one, it will probably be the best but it's going to be hard to achieve though.
Thanks again,

Dude once again nice job! and already downloaded.
If I may offer some constructive critisism-
It does seem a little enclosed as stated above. I think its more because the gallente woman takes up a larger portion of this wall paper than the amarr one did, so more focus goes onto her rather than everything going on.
my second point is, the lighting on her seems off. maybe im just seeing things but it almost looks like there is 1 expression on her and a different one on the reflection. maybe thats just me.
Still great job man!! I hope i wasn't mean or anything on the little critisisms.
Cheers! --------------------------

Heh not at all bud, criticism is fine. She should be the same on both sides, she was just flipped in editor. I did kind of want it to be about her and her thoughts on what's going on outside really, but the minmitar one will be more action packed.
Thanks again.

a picture doesnt have to have depth to be "deep"
i think its a very nice pic and u captured the atmosphere of being lonely at an internet spaceship station quite well.
maybe tone down the scratches on the window a bit

I don't like this one compared to the Amarr version. But it is still good!
I think what worked so well last time was that the silhoutte of the girl made it seem quite realistic, rather than it looking like it was taken from a game. This time, the features of the woman take away from that. I guess in my head i figured you'd use the silhoutte as a running theme - not sure why really, but it'd be nice to see and would make the series of wallpapers cohesive.
Anyway, this is intended to be constructive. I don't want you to think i'm bashing your good work.
Keep it up!
