Yeah we were about 12-15 solid actives back then. But that shouldnt take away from what looks like a solid campaign. Far as i can tell Stealth tightened up and stepped it up, so props. ---

Hi,
Looks like you guys did indeed get pwned by Johnny 101 and co.
As for your killboard - Your effeciency is quite low for a merc corp.
I mean 50% is pretty woeful especially when your getting paid to kill stuff.
I thought my corp had a bad ratio at 75-80% but you guys take the pickle.
And as it has been said many times before - Don't hire these guys.
Plenty of good mercs out there but these guys are not one fo them.

Correct me if I'm wrong but in mercenary work, isn't the amount killed more important than efficiency? I mean, once the contract is paid, we could lose 2 billion in ships, but the contracter pays exactly 0 ISK of that. If we kill 1.5 billion too, the target ended up with 1.5 billion in damage, so isn't that what matters?
Besides, in regard to our contract, our efficiency is something like 85%.
Thanks,

Oh there's quite the story behind that one.
One of our guys in a proteus tackles a raven 3 jumps out and screams for help. I'm pretty much the only one on and don't want to leave him hanging. I arrive, raven goes into half shield, I start orbiting at neut range, neut, etc. Suddenly our proteus is gone.
Me > "WTH are you?" Proteus > "He had heavy neuts." Me > "Oh damn."
Then he pointed me and my cap was gone. I logged in disgust. Proud to be shaych |

should prob include the 31st on your contract stats then since you lost a rather expensive ship in pursuit of your contract?
And who hires mercs in 0.0 for 3 days... Seriously people, for all the moving they do you could at least book them for a full week lol ---

Ahh, roger, will do. Think I lost that one after the contract expired and we were kinda hanging around. Wasn't sure if that counted. fixed.

Seriously!
As a client, I couldn't give a rats ass what your efficiency rating is. In fact I don't care if you run your corp into the ground as long as you fulfill the contract.
I'm not paying you to do the job efficiently, I'm paying you to do the job, period.
If that is accomplished you get a happy customer that will recommend you to others. Isn't that the bottom line?

This is pretty sound reasoning, however, the efficancy reflects on the skill of the corporation. If it's low they may not be able to reach the goals of the client. If you think they can, then it doesn't matter.

Okay, I'm still new in the Eve world... I am curious about how the topic keeps coming back to killboards and your efficiency rating according to it. I would assume that as a mercenary corporation, that wouldn't be a factor as long as you accomplish what you're being paid to do. I mean, if you keep throwing cheap ships over and over at your target aren't you going to be inefficient according to the killboard? I assume that will lead to higher loss ratios, but if you're losing cheap ships, that wouldn't really matter, right? Or am I way off base here. In the meantime, you're going to be getting kills also I would assume, I mean, you fire enough rounds downrange, you're gonna hit something... (heh, sorry, ex army here)
What I guess I'm trying to ask is if you're a merc corp, and you consistently get the job done, AND you're making money from the contracts... (yes, I know you're going to lose isk during the war, but I mean as far as the contract paying for what you lose, and being profitable to boot)... is the killboard really a good measure of your corporations worth?
Okay, gonna ramble a second here... lets say you have 2 mercenary corporations that are the same age, and the first one, with a great efficiency rating has 500 kills and 75 losses... looks great efficiency wise, but the second corp, that's the same age has like 2000 kills and 2500 losses... even though the second corp is "inefficient" according to the killboard doesn't the fact they they have engaged and killed 2000 people (probably wrecklessly of course ) mean a lot more? I would think that you would want to hire the corp that gonna go out and shoot a lot more, and make the targets life hell, than the one that seems to pick and choose it's targets.
How wrong am I here?

Surely getting 70 kills in a stealth bomber while in the worst alliance eve ever saw would make you some sort of pvp god, certainly far better than someone who got 70 kills poncing around with all the other leet players. ....

I honestly don't know why people who our black ops division has never gone up against are chiming in but hey it's not scrapheap so that is to be expected...
Quote: The pre-mentioned bombing practice had led to a massive victory. Red Alliance had titan-bridged a massive fleet into one of our systems TP-RTO. Our fleet was roaming the system, but when the cyno went up, the Black Ops bombers got there first. With over 70 ships clustered tightly together, it was a perfect target. 8+ bombs were launched inside of 15 seconds or so, and those bombers got 56( yes fifty-six ) kills. I was immensely jealous; while I left, my team delivered more than an improvised Doomsday worth of damage to an enemy battlefleet.
Quoted from Securitas blog of which I have not finished reading. The above was one of the only times that black ops was asigned and prepared to work with the capital and support fleets per Ahrpad. Black ops FCs were some british ***s, Ricardos Fordisimo & Doctor Mustaka. As any good spy infiltrating IRC/ED should/would know, black ops operated in a seperate secure channel and never had any leaks of vital information. Which is the only thing that made the "doomsday" equivalent in TP-R successful.
TP-R Evidence: http://ageofhonour.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=3591843 Additional evidence: http://ageofhonour.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=3491343 http://ageofhonour.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=3489555 http://ageofhonour.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=3472510 Above KMs should also be point of reference for stats on the individual pilots on the team, whose stats continue to speak wonders. There was no killboard designated for the team alone.
Good luck with the new operation guys. :)

Thanks for that Ghost. Fun times.
In other news, we had a bit of an epic fight with Wildly Inappropriate. I'll post details on the blog, but basically they had a 20-something man fleet, we baited with a blackbird, they jumped, and we bombed them. Killed ~600m, lost less than 75m. And half of that was because of my stupidity. :)

I think our biggest mistake when we started was not taking on a 0.0 contract. The core leadership have been living in black ops ships in 0.0 doing this work for the best part of a year. We recruited players that were not yet ready to fly bombers or support which made life difficult as you wanted to include them as well.
However saying that the person that died the most on the first two jobs was in fact me. I lost 3 bombers in as many days to bloody gate camps. One of them was to a single man gate camp as well. Basically someone left a large bubble up. I jumped in and was insta de-cloaked and happily back in station a dew seconds later.
I think the measure of success in this line of work is having the recipient of the contract pay you to leave. Won't say which Op that was but after it finished we announced we were no longer on contract in local a couple of times but that we were going to stick around for a while as we liked our new home. Within a day we had received an offer from the resident alliance diplo who wanted to pay us to leave as we were a nuisance. Offer was accepted and we moved out.
Black Ops Mercs are nothing like normal Mercs. The job is different. The fighting is different. And the results are different.
I ran some Ops which I called "Just for ****s and Giggles. We had gathered in intel on all their undefended & valuable moon gold POSs in the area. We had one of the guys shoot at a med POS that was off their JB network a ways and sitting on a valuable moon. HD fleet went up to deal with us pesky bombers.
By the time they finally got out to the remote spot we were shooting another all the way across their space. So HD fleet sent to engage us. We basically had them chasing their tails for a good many hours. I had a Spy alt in the target alliance and I wished I had frapsed the voice comms. FC was cursing us blind. The soldiers were all ****ed off at all the travel and no fights.
So if the objective was kill board whoring we failed that night. If the job was to attack morale, waste their time and generally make their FC's look like asses then we were full off win.
I don't mind people slagging us off whether it is in local, on forums or any other medium. We are getting paid to live in 0.0 space. It is very good fun. As long as the clients are happy and the corpies are happy then I am happy.
