"Proficiency at driving down market-related costs. Each level of skill grants a 5% reduction in the costs associated with setting up a market order, which usually come to 1% of the order's total value. This can be further influenced by the player's standing towards the owner of the station where the order is entered."
I'm interested in the last, bolded part. How does standing affect how much I get charged for setting up an order? How much standing is required to get the "best rate," so to speak?
My apologies if this should really be in the MD forum.

There is much debate on the topic. After a quick search I couldn't find a wiki article on the topic. But you might want to read this thread or this other thread and make out what you can.
Basically, if you are creating large amounts of buy or sell orders in a certain station or stations owned by a single NPC corp, you'll want to run missions for them to get your standing up to lower the fees.
Bear in mind, however, when you quick sell to a buy order (right click --> sell) brokers fees are not taken into account, only the transaction tax, which is effected by the accounting skill.

Broker Relations brings tax to 0.75%. with corp and faction standing this can be reduced to under 0.20%. is it worth it or not, depends on how much and type of trading you do.

Edit: Hmm link doesn't seem to be working via forums for some reason, I guess cut and paste it if you want to see. I can't be botehred working out what's wrong!
