Before you implement this I want one small bit of code added:
The ability for the corporate director to disable the Join button!!! This can and will be almost instantly exploited as a way to annoy the absolute heck out of corporations that are at war or just to generally annoy people using nuublet alts.

Ohhhh... dear gods NOOOOoooooo.....!!
NOT something I want to see, a damn flashing channel button I can't *close* because I'm in the corp, I can hardly ignore because it ties up another damn channel tab, and is full of non-stop ISK spam from nuublet trial accounts!!!

Finaly about time...
Now please, please, please make is so that one can leave a corporation even if there was a change in their access rights and privilages less then 24 hours before leaving the corp.
Once that is done please document very clearly what each of the roles grands in terms of access rights etc. Right now certainly for new coprorate ecexutives this is a maze that is nearly impossible to navigate. A good idea might be to give corporate executives an extra menu option for all corporate owned objects, clicking this will show a list of all roles that have rights to this object, that way when John Smith claims he cannot acces this hanger the corp. exec. can see instantly which roles could be granted to John to give him access.
Also it would be wonderful if objects could be set to be accessable only by member X, Y and Z even without the role issue. That way one could go on a mining op drop all the ore in one can in the corp hanger without having to worry about any of the new corp members being able to access the can for instance.
Other then that all I can say again is finally ------------------------------------------- Should you disagree with me, well I guess that is because I disagree with you. If you have a problem with that please feel free not to tell me. |

Please make it only visible to npc corp members or something.
If there's one thing I don't like that you keep adding, it's supposed extra functionaility that I personally never use, but still get lumbered with all the extra buttons for.

Not to be a sourpuss, but it's just one button. I enjoy reading all of the dev blogs, but that one is probably the most hype I've ever seen a game developer make about adding one button to their UI. I love y'all anyway. <3

This was my problem also, continue like this and you got 20 buttons which doesnt make it clearer. At least remove show on map (or at least do that for the corporations without space) and show contracts.

The biggest concern I have about this is that we will now be flooded by Join Spam. There needs to be some sort of control measure implemented on the end of the recruiting corporation that either:
Disables the option to "Join" entirely or Creating a filter that allows only "approved" applicants to utilize the "Join" button
Join Spam is the last thing we want. A Misguided Adventurer - Proud member of the CrazyKinux Blogpack!

Now we just need to be able to remotely accept missions at least inside the same system. Maybe add a social skill that extends your range like the other remote skills.

awesome, this new feature is gonna make things much easier for players like myself who spend lots of time recuiting. it means i no longer have to remember where the offices are for the 3 corps i help recuit for (i have toons in several corps, all of whom hang out together while not being part of the same alliance as they all have thier own purpose) ______________________________________________ CEO of 352 Industries. Hi,
Great work. May I also suggest the folowing: A - Enable to search for a corporation uppon criteria. (Activities, Region, number of members, number of active members). As a start, those criteria could be be a tick box. The number of active members could be remplace by a active indicator (where if more then 25% of the corp is online below then once a week, it is low, and goes higher . (maybe a % indicator where you sum the online time(per week or month) of each member and devide it by the total potential online time (off course a 100% would be highly improbable or sick...) B - Remember the Aurora setting per account. (Maybe not the right thread but anyway). I think each account should hold the aurora setting (not start again when playing on a new computer, creating a new character). I know, it is just couple of click to shut it off, but I am lasy and impatient... C - Easilly to set friendship indicator to corp and individuals. Standing is one thing but to assign a neutral, friend and carefull something might happen would be interesting to newbie, and set/modify easilly. All members of a corp should be able to do that. Maybe a new corp right. D- It would be nice too to have some sort of a shared map. So points of interrest could be marked and shared to members of a corp, alliance. Location of POS, wormholes, good mining spot, stations of interrest, safe spot, best itinary to go from one point to another, etc.
Best Regards and continue the great work!!!

Making it easier to join a player corp is a good thing. Now can you actually provide some incentive for players to do so rather than living forever in the 0% tax, 0% restriction, 100% wardec immune NPC Corps?

It's funny because while I am all for making corp recruitment easier, I feel unhappy about this change. I think it is good for the reasons stated but I also think that forcing players to go to a corp facility has value.
As others have stated it can help to be a "weeding out" process and it also helped localize the game which is something that must be done in a single-instance MMO. This type of change is, in a way, a step down the slippery slope that ends in the same type of "magic inventory" system WOW has where it follows you everywhere and physical location has no meaning. As it stands now this change will help to negate the value of having offices in certain places for recruiting purposes. Maybe that's intended?
This could partially be cured if the system was reversed so maybe players could APPLY from anywhere but could not JOIN/ACCEPT employment without going to a corp office or headquarters (other process?).
Since you are looking at recruiting, it also might help to increase the ways in which corps can actually advertise themselves. Billboards, tie-ins to purchased items, something. Right now the best options for corp recruiting advertisement are chat spam, forum posts , of an ad in EON.
Some other thoughts (some already suggested):
-Make this an opt-in system for corps or at least something that can be toggled when they wish to not be openly recruiting.
-Possibly include criteria the corp can set that makes this option available to players. Example: Player can't apply to a corp unless they have 6.0 sec status, or 6.0 with gallente federation, or X skillpoints. Make these requirements visible to potential applicants so they know what to shoot for if they are interested in joining a particular corp that has requirements. FOR GOD'S SAKE PLEASE ENSURE YOU CAN FILTER OUT ENEMY CORP APPLICATION SPAM!
-Ensure that there is some sort of limitation on the number of time a particular player might apply to a corp.
-Not sure how it will tie into the new email system that is being worked on, but certainly make sure that a large volume of applications does not inundate someone's mailbox.
-Perhaps consider putting a price on this type of feature for corps(maybe that's the toggle you need right there). Basically something to help distinguish corps who are actively trying to recruit. The corps that pay for it, have that option open to potential employees.

If you really want to make it easier for noobs and for them to join corps, fix the joke that is Corp/POS/hangar security. So they don't have to fly to a station with a new button, it's nice and makes it simpler for some, but really ... If they really want to be in some corp, they'll fly to the station, they're going to go there anyway to hang out with the corp.
Some random noob applying to some random corp is going to be denied by that corp because Corp security is so bad. Who wants some either inexperienced noob screwing around with things they do not yet understand or some spy? No one.
The security schema in Eve should be and could be something that most everyone already understands. And that is akin to a file system. Think of a corp as a hard drive, each corp hangar as a directory, each division a sub directory, each can another sub directory, Each pos as a directory, each module on a pos as a sub directory.
Allow a corp to create groups, and lots of them; use GUIDs. Allow a group to be assigned to one of these "directories" and then allow corp/alliance members to be placed in the groups. Allow these "directories" to inherit permissions from the parent.
If you really wanted to make it easy for CEO and directors to use it, make a tree view of corp/alliance assets (directories). The convoluted security system is part of the reason why they corp window is so screwed up, form follows function, and the function as it currently stands, is poor.

To be honest the corps+alliances system is in need of some major love and adding this silly little button won't do much to fix it.
Sure, it'll be nice to be able to apply to a corp from a distance, but this button should have always been there. Really.
These tiny tweaks don't do much to help the game along and, instead, I'd love to see some advancements in the corps/alliances management tools.
a. Corp security sucks. Really sucks. The game is a "trust nobody" style of game and without any real corporate security I really don't want to let any of my corp have access to my BPO collection... but we'd be so much more productive if I didn't guard them like I would guard a delicious sandwhich.
b. Roles and titles! This system totally sucks. Not only do you have to mess around trying to find which options grant access to what but you can quite easily grant somebody access to something you didn't mean to! On the same feature, why does using a control tower to do research require so many high level roles? I'd like my corpies to research without access to the corp wallet or being able to config starbase equipment!
c. Not really a corp feature pre-se but the corporate hangars on ships like the Orca are really quite buggy. These bugs really present themselves during fleet mining operations.
d. Recruitment. While I do like the ads you can take out as a recruitment drive I feel that the interface is too hidden away to be of any real use to newbies who should be actively looking for corps. |

"Problem: Newbies have no idea what the benefits of joining a corp are, how to search for a corp, which corps exist within the game, which corps are recruiting and willing to train them, and what those particular corps "do" in the game
Solution: Add "Apply to Join" button to Show Info "

So ceo's/directors will be spammed by join-invites from random clueless newbs?
Awesome.
Just give us a way to disable it.
Some of us are not hiring. And some of us still wan't people to make that effort across galaxy if they want to join a particular corp. Or they are most likely just deadweight.
So this new feature... 2/10
Try again.

While you're at it, it would be really nice if there was a "corp assets" tab on my assets window, complete with offices, deliveries, impounded, member hangars (if roles present).
