The video preview in CS4 is super choppy when the timeline hits the fraps footage (Not plain titles, etc.)
(All video is compressed using virtualdub and H.264 codec)
I have a decent computer setup - I don't think thats the problem. anyone having a similar issue ?
E6600 Core2Duo
2gb ram
EVGA 9800GT pci-express
100+gb of free hard drive space
reasonably fresh windows install (6 months tops)
not sure what other info might help diagnose this... but its a bit frustrating. any help will be appreciated. thanks

I also use Adobe Premiere CS4 and have experienced this issue. I can confirm that this is not a hardware issue (being on a Mac Pro), and doesn't have anything to do with Fraps files being ridiculously large since I need to export them to another format before working with them in Premiere anyway.

bare in mind i don't really know what im talking about here
Ive always had similar problems trying to edit video using the x.264 codec Im pretty sure it because hd video is so highly compressed, your machine just cant handle the real time playback. (i have a quad core and have the same problems)
I've come to this conclusion after a bit of google searching (when i initially tried it myself) and read a few random remarks about hd video being a pain to edit. I also believe there's ways around it but i couldn't tell you how.
I suggest you get on google, maybe find some video editing forums and read about it or hope someone that knows what they are talking about reads your thread :)

CS4 Editing is pretty sluggish in Premiere, as I think Adobe and Nvidia want people to use this card which is very nice, but kinda pricey.
I did a test between CS3 and CS4 for After Effects and Premiere and was quite surprised at the degredation in preview viewing performance with CS4, when Sony Vegas Professional 9 has improved performance over version 8.
But this is just my opinion with my setup and system, which is not too different from yours.

I remember blasterthron 2 & 3 those were awesome =p still have #3 i believe
