Hi there
I'm trying to start an invention job and I am having some trouble.
I would like to invent a Nemesis BPC, and I have the following in one of my POS labs storage hangars
1. A Tristan BPC, 2. 2 x Gallentean Starship Engineering Datacores, 3. 2 x Mechanical Engineering Datacores, 4. Incognito Ship Data Interface.
I bring up the Invention tab, and choose my Installation, the lab the items are stored in, then I choose the BPC I want to invent from, I select the input and output hangars, but for some reason, the dropdown menus will not detect any base items or any decrypters, even though the decrypter is right next to the BPC in the storage area of the lab I want to do the job in.
Has anyone else come across this that can suggest to me what to do from here?

hey,
i noticed the same problem.
i tried to invent paladin bpcs with 2 different decryptors. first, i put all mats needed in the lab hangar, but i could only choose one decryptor. so i removed one, tried it again, now i could only select the one i just removed from hangar^^
next, i swapped them a few times from cargo<->hangar until i could select the one i wanted, the decryptor was listed and checked in the final warning preview screen and i started the job...but the decryptor was still in the hangar, and 1.5 days later, the resulting bpc proofed, that no decryptor was used for the job.
kind of annoying^^ i petitioned it some days ago, but haven't received a respose yet, so maybe they are working on the problem or just are very busy right now. my temporary solution, if the same problem appears when trying to select the items, is to use another lab for the job. or relog and try again.

They all appeared ticked this time in the final screen, yet not in the dropdown menus, so here's hoping.

Sometimes there is a bit of client/server lag and the labs don't update immediatly. Relog or wait 5 minutes and the items should show.

5. base item would be a Tristan 6. Ship Data Interface isnŠt a Decryptor
So you donŠt have that items there so the "system" canŠt show you the base item or decryptor to choose one. |

Data interfaces ARE NOT decryptors, and BP's are not base items.

When inventing T2 ship BPC's having a base item does nothing to increase your chances of success, therefore do not use a base item unless you want to trash a Tristan for no reason.

Heh thanks, I realised that after I started the job...my bad.
Now I have a Nemesis BPC, and it's -4 ME/PE as I expected.
Just curious what Decrypter eliminates the negative ME/PE? I'm guessing Stolen Formulas?

None, actually. They all affect ME, PE, and number of runs in some way. Check here to see which ones do what. ---
