it's a really really worse mechanic. While the player loot and salvage owhership is implemented correctly, the loot ownership switches to the wrecker of an NPC ship.
This is not correct in my opinion because there is no reason for switching ownership to an actual thief and robber who continuously keeps raping NPCs for profit, the stuff should remain in the ownership of NPC, this would be only consistent and even fix the tractoring issue where nobody can tractor wrecks shot by other people.
Further, this ridiculous mechanic leads to massive irritation among players and induces wrong thinking and implicitness of getting ownership to robbed stuff, which is evident in massive spam in forums about actually correct salvage mechanics.

i approve of this thread.
the more i think of it, the more i support the idea of everybody having equal and rightful access to the loot and wreck of any killed npc.
This would make High Sec the way it should be, or it would be a step in the right direction at least.

Well. From the perspective of the empires the NPC pirates are criminals who trespass on their territory. They do not mutually respect each other's property so CONCORD awards the loot of Pirate wrecks to the loyal citizen who destroyed them.
So: NO ---------------------------------------------- The glass is neither half full nor half empty. It's just twice as big as it need to be... |

the only thing that they award are the bounties. Everything else is illogical.

Edited by: Robert Caldera on 05/08/2009 11:56:14 yes, bounties should be the reward, not the loot. Besides that, whats about 0.0 and loot ownership?? There are no empires, the loot is assigned to the robber though. This is a sign of wrong implemented loot ownership logics.

Boost bounties then back to the pre-nerfed state as well. ---------------------------------- None of yet! |

Who cares about missions. They very rarely drop faction loot. ---------------------------------- None of yet! |
