I am curious, is it even actually possible to dislodge wormhole owners. I mean it takes a lot more work than simple low and 0.0 sectors. First of you have to be luck to find the actual entrance which can shift. Second the issue of number of ships and the wormhole closing.
Is it possible CCP didn't anticipate these issues? Because from an outside standpoint wormholes appear to be a lot saver than normal space. Or am I missing something?

Oh, it is indeed possible, just very, very, very difficult to do so, particularly if they set it up right, and are committed to defending it. I think CCP realized they would be tough to take down, and they planned it that way to make T3 ship prices cheaper. They aren't exactly safer, maybe for a POS, but not for scooting around due to the lack of local. ~ The man who smiles when things go wrong has thought of someone to blame it on. |

It is indeed possible. My corp was recently "ejected" from a wormhole we had set up shop in. The largest issue is having enough members willing to spend prolonged time in the WH. Our 30+ jump trips to get to the day's entrance in order to fight off the attacking fleet were a huge disadvantage. We decided to rep up the sheilds and dismantel the POS rather than move into the WH. In the end, they simply were willing to dedicate more time and effort to controlling the system than we were.

The class 1 wormhole systems only admit battlecruisers and smaller ships, and not too many of those at a time. If a corp sets up a medium or large POS in such a system, with sufficient firepower, it's going to be hard as heck to get a sufficient force in the wormhole to destroy their POS.
On the other hand, if you were an attacker you could bring your own POS in and it'd be equally invulnerable. That'd make for a pretty interesting situation. You could actually build battleships in the wormhole that are too big to leave, and use them to wage a little war in a teacup.

Errrr, I think you are wrong. Building a cap ship requires soveriegnty. There is no sovereignty in wormholes.

It is quite possible. Using a c3 WH and a medium sized BS fleet a POS can easily be taken down. Then, leave an alt logged off in the system, to scan the exit when the stront runs out :). Of course, the 500m in sites that piled up in the mean time was a nice bonus too

Some people get overconfident with their POSes as well. There's always some dumb targets to bash.
We took down a POS in wormhole space right as it was going up...they didn't bother to have a defense fleet there, and all that turned up to protect it was a myrm and a drake. Against about ~10 stealth bombers and a stabber, it went down pretty fast.
Another time we took down a POS that didn't bother to fit more than four small guns for defense (which got rangetanked by stealth bombers and taken down)...After reinforced, he took down the small guns and replaced them with four medium guns...which we then speedtanked
Even more recently we took down an undefended medium POS with a mixture of SBs and cruisers.
If you're just in it for the white-knuckled action that comes with POS bashing, there's plenty of easy targets. However, if you want to take out one specifically, it's a bit harder. You either need a big BS fleet, or a POS + materials for a dread.

I think it would be hilarious to have a WH system full of Dreads and carriers
1. Find a Class 1 WH 2. Set up POS 3. Build Dreads and down. 4. ??????? 5. profit
I suppose it could be easier to get things done in the low class WHs if you had BS and things on hand to clear the sites that you would normally not have on hand. When you are done and ready to move on you break them down, put mods in indys And Reprocess them hulls etc. Start over.
I want to get a report of a Capital fight in a WH now.

Presuming you have a route to a POS in w-space you want to take down, and a fleet in empire.
1 - Place 2 or 3 scanning ships in the target system 2 - Fly your fleet to the pos until it collapses the WH 3 - scan new route to empire. 4 - Fly more of fleet to pos, repeat 3-4 until satisfied with numbers. 5 - Kill pos.
Do same for way out after takedown. Key is gaining and maintaining control of the WH and its respawning. This is particularly easy for POS targets in those class 1,2 w-space systems that permanently open into empire. If its a longer route and an inbetween WH is smaller than the POS WH, you might need to do some accounting to close the POS WH with your fleet to get a fully new route.

In a general way, taking down a POS in a WH is no harder than taking down one anywhere else. It's the logistics of getting the fleet to the target that makes it a challenge. You have to worry not only about max total mass of the WH, but max mass per ship, which will be the more limiting factor in what you can bring in. --Vel

I tell ya its a common misconception about building capitals in w-space. i cant remember how many people ive corrected on it. Ive actually seen a corp in a c3 with a dred once, rather macho of them i thought. i asked them why they bothered turned out they had a war with another corp who tried to muscle in on their system. the dred was the big stick.

If a corp has enough members and is truly dedicated to taking over an WH system, the easiest way (and the most time consuming) is to basiclly "choke out" the OPFOR.
This is done by putting up large static bubbles at WH exit points and preventing the OPFOR from refueling thier POS(s)....WH exit points generally last about 25 hrs, so it's pretty easy to time when a WH goes down and when another pops up.
