Edited by: Blackfyre 001 on 06/08/2009 16:46:11 At 18:00 eve time today my corp will enter war an alliance containing 636 members. We are outnumbered almost 20-1. At this time we are not overly concerned because we believe that we are mostly hidden from them. However, I would like to price mercenary services so that should we need them we would be able to get assistance quickly. Also, since I have never had to hire a merc corp before, does anyone know any good corps or know how to get references or history on a merc corp to verify that they are worth the buy?

nah, they only have about 1/3 of the needed members to even be suggested for a dec.
edit: On the other hand, the deccing corp has enough members

As of now at least one of the corps in the alliance that declared war against us has left the alliance and withdrawn from the war. Also, we have seen very minimal activity on the part of the aggressors.
Is war normally this quiet? We might occasionally see one of their ships in our HQ system. Anyone in a frig can escape them easily and we have had a lot of fun running them in circles.
Seeing how this is my first war I am kinda wondering why so many noobs are scared of war if this is it.

Edited by: Omara Otawan on 08/08/2009 01:36:46 Looks like you're doing it right, not getting killed easily is a good start.
The next step now would be to evolve from the hunted into the hunter, being outnumbered 20:1 is not really a bad thing as you will have little trouble finding your prey.
Form t1 frigate wolfpacks, seek out their soft targets (miners, haulers, etc), and bring the war to their doorstep. Even a small corp of inexperienced players can make life hell for a large alliance, and have a blast doing it.
Good luck
Edit: do not be shy to use out-of-corp alts to scout, everybody does it, and as long as you have a free character slot they can be created without hassle.

Being in a big large indy alliance can yield some great pvp. Our corp hide as wolves among sheep. When we get dec'ed no one sees us comming. That sets up some great action the first few days. After that we wind up camping stations waiting for the "hunters" to undock . In short train combat and look foward to dec's. Don't be sheep and waist a week hugging.

There's a merc corp called Noir that looks interesting. From the looks of their website, they seem pretty professional.
