Hello,
I suppose many of you gave up playing EvE for some long enough time, but then back to the game. As a result you probably have not as much SP as you could have if continuously playing.
I've got an idea regarding that. I would like CCP to create a routine to buy this missed time. And I encourage you to discuss this idea. It could be bonus to skills training time.
For example: Some player missed several months (or weeks) of playing EvE. When he reactivates his account, he also may pay additional money for the "missed time card".
-Activate it and receive +100% to SP per hour bonus. -Bonus can be used only ones per month. -Available amount of ômissed time cardsö = numbers of missed months. -Cost of a ômissed time cardsö = cost of month subscription or fixed by CCP. -six(3-4-5?) months of playing must be paid by creditcard or timecards. *TC to 30dPLEX convertation mechanism can be updated for TC to 2x"missed time card" convertation option. -"missed time card" cant be sold or transferred to another character
ItÆs only one variant. Realizations could be different.
Any suggestions regarding this idea are welcome.

...interesting idea, and one I strongly desire, having played this game off and on for 6 years and losing enough training time that I only have 25 mill SP. However, if this were implemented, I foresee much old alt reactivation...and a sudden HUGE jump in players that have over 50 mill SP. And the absolute chaos that would ensue.
Assuming that only players who have actually lost time over the years can actually buy this. Now, if ANYONE can buy such a card...OMG! Insane. You would have people flying around in carriers or dreads in a few months instead of the year+ it can take now. Yikes. Then again, I like chaos and insanity. I like the idea. I'de pay extra for that. But, it may have gamebreaking consequences. My sig was fail, but now it isn't.

It would only work if you've had an active account for that time. In which case it probably wouldn't be required.
Why should you get something (in this case a very large something) for nothing?
Or are you prepared to reimburse CCP for all those lost subs?

Read the post again. It's a good idea, he's saying that for a month of accelerated training time you would pay a months subscription, so CCP wouldn't be losing anything, in fact they'd be gaining as those lost months where a character wasn't subbed they'd now be getting paid for.
It's not really game breaking either, as you would only end up with the amount of SP you would have had anyway, had you not let your subscription lapse. I think this is a great idea, one which I would use (I lost 3 months when I moved house two years ago and couldn't get a net connection)

Edited by: Sheriff Jones on 07/08/2009 08:14:51 Idea too complicated;
- You're away three months. - You re-activate. - Get option to buy three months worth SP(via same sum as you'd paid up until then). - Place SP in character accordingly.
Simple, no lost time.
No cards, no codes, just direct injection to account. No trade possibility, nothing.

Right ok, I understand where you're coming from, however:
- Old character leaves game for a few months through boredom.
- CCP brings out new content that should last for ages.
- Old character trains skills and burns through new content in a week and becomes UBER OLD CHARACTER far faster than was intended and complains that there's no new content

Don't stop subscription then, problem solved as well. You don't have to be logged in for training to continue. That is what I do now. Just take a year sub, use long skills to train. And do other stuff, like playing other games, going outside (yeah I know I'm crazy) while all I only do is train a skill in eve when I don't really play it at that moment.
Also no need to download a new client every time I return or sit there more then half an hour to wait until the updates are done. ---------------------------------- None of yet! |

EVE is all about descissions and consequences. You decided to stop paying and training.
