Karrade Krises' Tears Inbound...
For hacking my accounts, selling all my crap including my brand new T3 Cruiser I had litterally just bought, and then pocketing the isk, as well as getting my accounts banned for 3 weeks when caught forcing me to lose 3 weeks of training... I have a message for you.
F*CK YOU

They had to confirm I was the true owner of the accounts...
I had to elevate it to get some attention to get them unbanned.
Lets not discuss Pettitions please. I wouldn't want to get this locked so soon, Thank you :P

This.
They wouldn't have "hacked" your account if you didn't click the "omg sexy lady" threads. It's been going on for over 2 weeks now, so I would think people would stop falling for it, but alas...
It's like those famous scams in trade hubs: everyone knows they're scams and people warn others over and over not to do it, but there's STILL people that fall for it.

Yeah, they see how truly bright the EVE player base is.... So much for the 'learning cliff' weeding out the unworthy.
Oh, and thanks Jita scammers for showing the hackers how... mmm, gullible (is that the word I want to use?) the EVE player base really is.

While I am a geek, and personally use NoScript, you have to admit, it breaks about 95% of the Internets. Not something I'd advise for the average user.

One thing that you don't seem to know is that it is not just Eve-Online forums that have been getting attacked by these keylogger spammers, it has been a number of sites so it has nothing to do with them thinking the Eve player base is. Another thing, blaming the Jita scammers for showing the keylogger spammers how dumb people can be is a crock of **** and has nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing to do with the keylogger situation.

You can turn it on temporarily for trusted sources. Shady **** linked on an EVE forum from asiatic account hackers and ISK sellers that wants you to install a "flash upgrade" that's not in the dl-pub of the developers of Flash are not a trusted source.
Really, all of this people having their accounts stolen bull**** is starting to make me paranoid, and I know my computer is clean, I don't click that ****, and I use noscript, but the sheer prevalence of it is really starting to get to me. Is it all just people who are so stupid so to install a keylogger disguised as a "flash upgrade" when trying to look at something naughty? At this rate, my paranoia is skyrocketing.

It seems to be happening a lot more often recently, it used to be practically unheard of for an Eve account to be hacked, although of course we have no definitive means of measuring such things. I use Flashblock + NoScript, and also ip-logging applications.
Ever since I started playing eve again, the amount of spam email which I receive containing malicious software or links to malicious websites has more than tripled.
Remember, it is not paranoia if they are actually out to get you.
They are out to get you.

No, I know it's a 'net wide phenomenon that really needs to be curbed. (Remember, only YOU can prevent forest fires!) I know it has nothing to do with what goes on in the game. It IS comedic to actually link the two, though. I figure if I'm going to talk ****, then I might as well poke as many wasp nests at once as possible.

I'm VERY safe when it comes to links. I hardly click any. Hell, I normally post "Don't click these links" "Click links at your own risk" on the forums when I see them posted up.
This is a new comp...all my **** I need is on my old comp, so I have no need to download any more on this new one. I'm running several programs to keep the system clean and virus/malicious/spybot free and all that good stuff.
I've got no clue how exactly I fell through the cracks. Oh well. Havn't gotten all my stuff back yet. My alt got isk back...but not at what I paid for it all...I'm not going to be a happy camper if I get the sold isk value for the t3 stuff. I paid 50-75 mil for each subsystem, and they were sold for arround 11 to 20 mil each...

Simple solution, be fail like me. Be broke and fly rifters only, then there is nothing of value to crack. Don't believe everything you read here. |

Hey Karrade,
I experienced the same thing a couple weeks ago. A couple of my accounts were hacked into by a keylogger and they stole my toons building materials and all of one's skill books. They also flew one of them to a station that had her blockade runner, had her tier 3 Industrial ship blown up, stole her blockade runner and left her in her pod. The GMs were kind enough to retrieve all phony player donations to said character and refunded all transactions made by phony noob. Now I too, have to work even harder to replace all the minerals stolen, the skils books and ships stolen, but I cannot make up for the stolen moon materials. I don't wish this to happen to anyone ever, but for the inconsiderate people out there, pray it doesn't happen to you, because if it does, I'll lmaol and rofl everyday for the rest of my life right back at you. As for Mister Jones Bones, you of sound corporation and corp thieves (way to go Madden!!!!), I hope it doesn't happen to you. Because I might actually shed tears of joy if it does. Sorry for your loss, Karrade. Good luck. Lana and Lexa , I love you.
