Edited by: Sir Substance on 19/08/2009 05:20:57 theres a lot of whine going on about dust, so heres whats going on:
1. CCP have spent 3 years working on this. they arnt gonna can it because you are whining. sorry.
2. if you whine rather then give feedback, you will be ignored.
so, with that in mind lets move away from "RAGE LETS MAKE CCP CAN THE PROJECT" and towards some constructive ideas, eh?
the purpose of this thread is to field ideas that would prod dust in the direction we want it to head in.
so, my idea:
i would like to see a randomised contract system so it is not possible for a really big rich allience to simply hire the best of the best on a perpetual basis.
instead, have brackets of low, mid and high skill players (or maybe more then three brackets) and you hire one of those brackets to defend your planet or attack the enemies.
who you actually get changes from battle to battle and is totally outside your control, all you are guaranteed of is a baseline level of skill and a max cap of skill dependant on how much you pay.
edit: i might add that this also means that you cant have a corp defence force of dust players, and it would require you to only tell the players what battle they are fighting and whose side they are on until after the battle, so people dont throw matches they dont like. ------ I, for one, welcome our new console overlords! |

It was stated in the presentation that the Devs hope that Hybrid Alliances form between the two different games. That kind of goes against what you suggest.

Best way for this to work is exactly the way Eve works. Coperations.
Say your a big Eve Online nut who needs to defend his system. XYZ has the best protection status of all current corperations (lets say 61 Victories to 18 losses). You send them a Contract, they accept, decline, haggle a little.
XYZ's leaders then decide who to send to the planet, what gear to send the troops with and set up defence points, choke points and base spawn points.
XYZ would be responisble for hiring transport, gunships and suppling a command uplink to your company so you can watch the progress and maybe send in supplies at your own disgression and cost.
That in my eyes, would be the best way to do this
