I just had my 6th random crash.
The TransGaming crash reporter thing says something about an "access violation". Reading memory you shouldn't be, CCP?
Anyway, I've tried and tried to report the issue to TransGaming via the crash reporter but it just... hangs.
The game is completely unplayable, I log in... it crashes a minute later. CCP Casqade said I should run a "trace" and submit it, I'm going to do that soon but in the mean time, I just want to know if I'm the only one having these problems? |

Edited by: Baba Akili on 21/08/2009 00:28:11 at first there were issues with d-loading the patch, then that worked out after repeated tries.
I was in saw no change (always a good thing) then tried to warp into a mission (through a gate) and crashed. No warning just a blank screen, then the desktop. I entered again, things got very "laggy" (not a busy system or isp issues it didnt appear). I didnt want to lose my drones and rigs and bs again... so I quit (after docking) after quiting there was a error message and a offer to send the report to Transgaming, that box (send report ) froze there, repost never was sent, couldnt close it. that was the same in my mac book pro (1 year old) and my iMac 2.8 Ghz, 4GB ram. (using 10.5.8 on both comps)
I really dont want to go back to loosing ships again

Same thing happens to me it either freeze and I have to force quit or it just crashed to desktop and I get a transgaming report window.
Luckily I have a windows desktop but for other with just a Mac this must be awful.

Same for me. Eight crashes since the patch, five were frozen screen while jumping at a jump gate requiring a forced quit and three were crashes to desktop which opened the crash reporter (which then hangs when attempting to report the crash). No problems pre-patch.
System: iMac 3.06 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo 4 GB RAM Mac OS X 10.5.8

it is over for CCP and the MAC I crashed close to 20 times and now it may have burned out my video card. Be careful all - watch for overheat of your machine. iMac 24 - 10 months old

I have a Mac Mini, latest OS version, 1 GB RAM.
Recently, I haven't really had that many problems... I started using windowed mode and turned the graphical settings down a little and I had the client running for about 20 hours with no crashes (no I wasn't there all that time I fell asleep).
Just after deployment, I would log in and crash minutes later but then after restarting my Mac it would be a few hours between crashes and... well I haven't had a crash in the last 2 days.
Maybe EVE has become self-aware and fixed itself. |

After patch I had multiple freezes and the client was exremely slow. Threw it all away and redownloaded/installed, had 1 crash because I was running two clients and photoshop, which froze the client(just the main one, with the higher settings), so that was probably a bit too much ;)

yes, last days I forced quit my lap like 20 times a day, it's very anoying, it ends leaving Eve for few days. I hope that EVE devs are working on this damn bug, because its really ****es me off.
I tried tracing to evecrashlog, but in that case the game is unplayable because you have like 2-3fps, but i did it, even the game didnt freezed, crash reporter at the end its not working i mean you cant send anything (very first post of this topic).
I filled out mac bug petition, so, I hope that something is going on.
someone really screwed something up with this last update, today my cpu (macbook pro, 2.16, 4gb ram, ati, leopard) jumped to 94C and than the game freezed together with leopard.
Quote: The game is completely unplayable

Same here... 4 freezes, each time just before a star gate, and 2 crash to desk top. Crash reporter just hangs and does nothing. No network transmission or anything. Using a late 2008 Macbook Pro, 2.4 and Snow Leopard. Didn't have any such problems pre Snow Leopard and Apochrypha 1.5 Only observation I can make is that the mac is certainly getting very hot. Going to run EVE in windowed mode to keep an eye on the actual temperature and see if it makes any difference. Incidentally, during a freeze, the only keys that would work were fn F11/F12 - decreasing or increasing the sound.

Confirming that the new patch didn't fix a thing, nor did upgrading to Snow Leopard.
I filed a bug report then forgot about it, apparently someone replied and gave me instructions on how to generate a log file on Mac OS so I'll do that now and hope for the best I guess... |

I have similar issues. The game randomly freezes. Sometimes it takes the entire computer with it, mouse will not move, clock stops, everything. Other times its just the client. Being in a fleet greatly increases the chance of a freeze. Oddly, my fleet mates say my ship does not warp out when the client freezes, it waits until I do a force quit. So although the screen is frozen and the client accepts no commands, there must be some activity in there to tell the server I'm still there.
Restarting the computer before starting eve greatly reduces the chance of a freeze, and reduces session change times.

Hello members of EVE. My name is kazaanii and I need help with a problem. I have encountered a variety of problems with the EVE client while playing on my late 2008 macbook. Here is the issues: randoming crashes, missing buttons and functions. At first I couldn't use the scanner and autopilot because the buttons left of the capacitor display went missing. Now my whole comm channel went missing and I'm not sure where to go from here. I reinstalled the EVE app several times, but to no success. Can I get some help please?
Computer: Late Macbook Mac OS X 10.6.1 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo 2 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 Ram GeForce 9400
