Another person who thought that bigger ships = better in eve and are struggling now to accept the fact that support skills are far more important.
To the op: take the good advice being given or get the **** out of the game.

Look, if you want "solo" PvP, where people are somewhat even, as far as "skills," and gear, right from the start, go play some battlegrounds...you won't even have to worry about losing anything you actually had to earn to get....it's REAL fun...am I right?!?!
You can be effective PvPing right from the beginning here, you just need to know HOW to PvP with what you have. My advice, take some classes thru Agony Unleashed and actually learn HOW to PvP in this game, or quit.
Sorry, but if you're looking to be on even terms, with the best stuff, right from the start, without having to earn anything, or learn HOW to earn and use it, then you shouldn't be here anyway....go play one of the other wildly popular "hold my hand all the way thru the game" MMO's that are currently out. I'm sure there's a crap-ton of them.

I have an alt account with a low (1.2m) SP pilot that is in FW who mainly plays the role of fast aligning scout and fast tackle. Each evening I have been able to get into a frigate fleet run by an FC's low sp alt and we have a lot of fun taking out our enemy's scouts and stragglers. We frequently catch T2 ships like Assault Frigs and Interceptors, and we even took out a Command Ship (Sleipnir) last night before the main fleet could get on us.
Also, it does not take much SP to get into a Blackbird and help bigger fleets with ECM. There are many support roles a low sp character can play in a fleet. I think you must not be in right corp if they are not helping you figure that out.

Why the hell is this thread still going?
It should not take 6 pages to convince a person that they need to quit playing when they really really want to anyways.

OP this is what you do:
Take a carebear approach. Leave that silly corp of yours, start doing missions and train BS and large guns or Cruiser launcher skills. It will take a month maybe until you can do level 4s efficiently for at least 30mill/hr. This means that over 1 weekend (10-12 hours of missioning) you can earn 300+mill and pay your monthly fee. Your "game not worth paying for" problem solved. I agree, I wouldn`t pay for this game either but it`s good enough as a filler, second MMO you can play for free.
After that, you don`t have a reason to quit EVE, you train your precious SPs while playing AoC and you don`t have a reason to whine on forums anymore. Basically, you only need to play 1 weekend per month and only log on for skill switching.
Since you think that SPs are everything this is the best solution for you. You can do this as long as you like, until you have enough SPs to pwn everyone (in your opinion).

UTTER FAILURE. No, you don't need "lots and lots of SP" to be decent at PvP. You only need the right kind of "wingmen". And your post goes downhill from that point onward. But by all means, don't pay for EVE, don't play EVE at all. It's not a game for everybody, you know... bye bye. P.S. I don't need your stuff (if you even have any).
hows it failure? with 3.1m sp i cant fly even well fitted t1 cruiser. Aha so you think i need right kind of wingmen, lol? Think you missed point entirely, sure i can join somebody who played eve few years and that can fly desent ships well but what is fun in it? Since i will be suck no matter what? And i will continue suck few more month, at least. Eve should really have relook this sp system, its retarted. Game is not playable for 6 month-1 year after you join game
That's completest wrong and you must know that. Do you play the game?

I think the Op is a shill for another company, you get a spread of these posts all at once I noticed. They spout out 'facts' that are totally wrong so they cant possible play the game.
I have no issue with people disliking a game but when they come out with information they must have read or made up they can only be a troll at best.

Those are not necessarily mutually exclusive options.
This thread is basically a ragevent. It's like a ragequit, but the OP can't bring themselves to actually quit for some odd reason.

Let me guess : you have nearly all of that SP in learning ? P.S. Read the edits.
Quote: sure i can join somebody who played eve few years and that can fly desent ships well but what is fun in it? Since i will be suck no matter what? And i will continue suck few more month, at least.
To PARTICIPATE in EVE PVP and not be useless, all you need is a few k SP. To be marginally useful in most group EVE PVP you need a couple hundred Ks of SP. To be decent in EVE PVP in most situations you need under 1 mil SP where it matters.
You can suck at 100k SP, and you can suck at 30 mil SP. On the other hand, you can be awesome at 2 mil SP, and not that much better at 100 mil SP (just more "diverse"). It's not about the SP total, it's about the right few levels and what you DO with them. Pumping up a few L3s and L4s to L5 does not "make or break" your ability to do anything, it just slightly improves it.
Akita is right on you can PVP with very little SP. I started PVPing at 1m sp.

well, i've been playing for well over a year...i have me which has 21 mil PVP SP, and my alt that has 18 mil Industry\PVP SP. They can both fly T2 crusiers...blah blah blah......and yea if you dont join a good corp that is highly active your not going to have much to do. I barly log on any more, just because i hate working in the game to do what i like. Which is PVP. But with the cost of T2 ships, you almost have to spend a couple full days ratting or some other form of making ISK....so unless you want to work in the game to afford your lexus to pvp in, or if you want to fit a perma tanked raven to do missions for hours on end....you should go pick up a Xbox or PS3 and start playing on that :)

Agree with other speculators. Either an employee of another company, or the reason I enjoy eve. There may be a lot of trolls and ******** in the game, but none of them are STUPID @*******. Eve effectively keeps the barrens crowd (see OP) out -- they don't learn or pickup the concepts quickly enough to float.
A lot of people took the right approach and tried to be patient and walk him through the right path without flaming him right away (despite angry and demanding posts back), but its clear at this point that either his reading comprehension or attention span is too lacking for the game. He repeatedly posts things previous, more experienced players have told him he was wrong. I played AoC too, buddy. The pvp there is only slightly better than WoW atm, and thats only because of the melee system -- and melee chars suck right now anyway.
Anyway, applause to all the guys who gave it a shot and were patient all the way. Good practice for actual potential players.

Become a pirate, join a pirate corp, buy 10 frigates with t1 fittings, buy 3 cruisers with t1 fittings.
Go to low-sec, blast some innocent guyes up, and recieve tears for instant gratification.
That was what i did, renewed my interest in eve @ about 50m skillpoints.

Pve: missions, mining hmm, not interesting enough Pvp: Well to be any desent in pvp you need lots and lots sp, i have 3.1m atm and would need few million more before i could (possibly) enjoy pvp. Also this game is 100% gear dependant, unless you have sp for good, wel fitted ship you wont enjoy game
Low sec/empire pvp: very boring, I'm in corp that does alot empire pvp and well its not worth time 0.0: I havent actually tryed it, pvping in huge fleet MIGHT be fun but i seriosly doubt it
Only option atm for somebody who havent played game for years is to join gank fleets, which are boring. never liked team pvp in most mmorpgs, i like soloing and thats not possible for me in eve atm, maybe after few month when i can fly well fitted dominix.
So pretty mutch what im paying for atm: I log every few day to check my skill training, sometimes i might join corp gank fleet, only to find out its boring
Maybe im doing something wrong and you are welcome to tell your opinion

Actually, I agree that eve is a bit too empty and lifeless.
Of course CCP bought White Wolf to help with this. We've gotten books, chronicles, better events, and of course mission arcs. Once there are lots of mission arcs in place, that will help bring eve to life.
What we really need are unique features though. Like this constellation has gas clouds that hurt you, aor a system might have a unique cool looking dual star or blackhole, ect.

Yes there are a lot of things CCP can do to make the game better but that is not what the Op is interested in. He is making wild statements that are wrong and he has no interest in constructive replies as he ignores them. He has played a tiny part of the game and assumes he knows all of it. So he's doing a emoquit troll.
