I'm looking to rat Sansha in Providence, mostly just to fix my sec status but also for later income. I'm mostly just trying to find the most 'isk-effecient' ship. I know a Dominix will rat really quickly but it'll take me a few weeks to make back the cost considering how often I'd be ratting. However, on another note, I now have one of those annoying sigs.

Just a word of caution, Providence has been rather hot for neutrals as of late. I would recommend ratting with a PVP fit, since Prov spawns are a joke and don't hit remotely hard to deep 0.0 spawns.

(Cloaks, Salvage/Tractors, Neuts in case you get jumped, etc) Secondly, if you decide to go all Drones and no guns (A hair slower, but perfectly viable), you don't have to worry about ammo. ------ "Tell a man there are 300 billion stars in the universe and he'll believe you. Lodoss	Posted - 2009.08.30 09:07:00 - [4] I would go with the deimos: - The PVE fit and PVP fit can be the same - Its fast and agile (easy to get out, domi take ages) - Its firepower is huge! I say domi is way to slow to earn itself back and will die at the very first blob unless you keep warping out everytime someone enters local, which will be often. Price is higher yes, but it will return your investment

You dont worry about ammo so more space in cargo for salvage loot. I would go with dominix with sentries i guess and ishtar since its faster with normal drones. Deimos standard blaster fit you will kill rats a lot faster then domi or ishtar but you have ammo problem and no utility slots tractor / salvage etc. Mortal in body Eternal in will.

Posted - 2009.08.30 10:16:00 - [8] Edited by: arbiter reformed on 30/08/2009 10:17:57 deimos is far better ratter than the ishtar v serps or guristas, i think as well the extra dps would nulify the ishtars advantage of damagetype choosing v sansha too, you dont need tank to rat 0.0, nuetrons and 3x magstabs, youll do twice the dps of the ishtar. also for a cheap ship, you cant go wrong with a brutix although if youre gonna do anoms or plexs ishtar everytime Signature graphics that may only contain your character name, corporation logo, corporation or personal slogan or other text that is directly related to your in-game persona, or content directly related to Eve Online. All content must be in good taste.Applebabe

Myrmidon If low on SP & ISK I would suggest myrmidon with sansha specific hardeners, feel free to pick your weapons since it has no bonuses for them... some has been seen using lasers... +bonus to armor repper & drones -still slow ship compared to cruiser class -might need rigs (but hey, those dont cost that much nowadays) By the time I lost my 1st -rating- myrmidon I had gathered enough money for my own private fleet and was ready to move on to next section Then ships that costs way more than domi.... I would suggest vexor navy issue for multiple reasons: requires gallente cruiser II, Fast, good dps from guns, beautifull drone bandwith => extra nice dps with t2 heavies. Heavies: fast ones, not ogres or you will be waiting them to return while hostile pops you or either you leave them on the belt. Work nicely with blaster setup. Bad sides are price & it has small cargo bay so if you want to loot you need to hide secure can somewhere. It also has big sign yelling: Shoot me! So "safer" ratting area is extra nice, perhaps with nice station in middle of it =) (good side with this is that you're extra carefull And finally, if you have skills for Ishtar, then go for it. Kill rats with sentries and move on. Faster, safer and with cloak no one will bother you. So... ..I would recommend cruiser class ratter over anything bigger, even with directional scanner nerf those who look for ratters tend to find you very, very fast and with BS sized ship you will be seeing nice some colours and soon after pod in middle your now dead BS. And when you move in to providence, set holder alliances blue, ask in local for intel on reds if you dont have access to intel channels... and consider everyone to be hostile if neutral.

Dominixes are great and all, but imagine the time you'll spend aligning, warping out... An Ishtar on the other hand is a versatile ship that can do a Dominix's damage AND salvage efficiently. While it may not kill AS FAST as a Domi due to filling your highs with salvagers and tractor beams, it can get out of nasty situations buckets faster than a Domi. And it's a capable salvage boat. Renarla	Posted - 2009.08.30 22:08:00 - [18] Alright thanks for the fits and stuff guys, but I wound up just getting a Vexor with the fit I posted- so far it's working well. Almost 500 dps melts rats fast, Afterburner + SAR speed tank tanks everything I've come across, and it has room for a salvager. :D And being a Cruiser hull it zips between belts quickly as well. However, on another note, I now have one of those annoying sigs.

CAREBEARSTAR3	Posted - 2009.08.30 22:25:00 - [20] don't rat in provi, it's a hunting ground for nearly every 0.0 pvp alliance, overcrowded with awful spawns. Since you're in a vexor now, maybe put on a cloak and go somewhere better- preferably serp space so you can do the most damage.

I never thought that - but then, key elements of my ratting Dominix (assuming you have a POS or something to get to) include 6x 425mm Railguns II, 3x MFS II, and a Sentry Damage Augmentor ... For ninjaing, I'd go with either an Ishtar or a Vexor. ----
