Hello pilots, I wanted to ask you all a question in regards to wandering around low and null sec space. I really enjoy entering these areas but my greatest fear is loosing the implants i have in me as they are worth a fortune (im posting this from an alt for anyone thinking of hunting me down like the dog i am to extract tears). Anyhow one of my clones has full slave implants which i think would be benificial but due to the volitile nature of combat in these areas, do most of you use high or even medium rated implants in low or null sec, or do you do it on the cheap with no implants as it is not worth it? I wish to know from experienced pilots as to whether its worth it or not as i plan in going into more dangerous regions alot more, cost is really not the issue but it would still hurt my wallet (and pride) if i were popped with a billion or a couple of billion of implants. Can you guys and gals give me advise if it is critical to use implants or to leave them behine and use an un implated clone. Thanks for the advise and help in advance.

In low-sec it's nearly impossible to lose your implants unless you hit a spot of lag. Null-sec is a different matter. |

Nullsec means gatecamps with bubbles. Lowsec is just like hi-sec, just with no Concord to save your arse. But if you know how to escape with your pod after an inevitable ship loss, then no, you won't lose your implants. :) Less yappin', more zappin'! |

Bubbles in null-sec means you're podded more often than not. In low-sec, just spam warp to a nearby handy celestial. |

Just use a Jump Clone?
Look up "Estel Arador Corp Services" in game if you don't have the standings to get a JC on your own. |

The pod warps instantly, you can only be killed by lag or AoE weapons like (smart)bombs. |

You can do whatever you want in the pimpest clone in lowsec. Dont have any that you cant immediately replace with no regret on a PvP clone in null. |

+5's and other pimp implants in Low-sec. +2's and possible but unlikely cheap implants in nul-sec. In low sec there are no bubbles so you shouldn't ever lose your pod unless they got an insta locking ship with a point. I've only lost one pod in low. Nul is a different story. 1/3-1/4 of ship losses also result in a pod loss as well. If you're in nul long enough you are going to lose your pod. Pods don't have the tank or speed to get out of a hostile bubble. |

Pods/Capsules warps almost instantaneously, so it's very hard to kill one unless you lagged out or disco'ed.
As for nullsec, yes, bubbles made a huge difference. A pod trapped in one are almost certainly dead. We use the high end implants mainly on cap pilots. I would probably only risk a full set of snakes in a ship that I pretty much know I can run camps and the like with. |
