Hello denizens of C&P i was wondering if you may offer up your opinions on the above topic?
Obviously bringing friends counts as this but does disengaging from an agreed 1v1 and docking when your faction BS is going to die to a lowly battlecruiser count as one also?
Aren't 1v1s by their very nature an agreement to fight to the death? If so surely docking or some such would be contrary to the agreement? If not should you stipulate that a fight should be to the death before the 1v1 begins?
If docking in this circumstance is considered to be a dishouring of a 1v1, a name and shame will follow - if not then meh, i will have an amusing story that me and my corp will laugh about for a good while now...

edit:- if you had a 1v1 at a station it was evident that at least one of you was intending to dock.

In my mind dishonouring a 1v1 is where they bring extra help, or logistics.
If they do anything extra that ensures your death instead of his than that's doshonouring a 1v1.
I also count fitting two therm and two EM hards when they know you have a harbinger for an arranged 1v1 to be dishonouring a 1v1.

Hey guys. I'm a huge scrub and therefore I tend to create my own "moral rules" by which I believe others should play. I generally make judgement calls about other peoples sanity, mental health, life chances, family history and social connectedness based purely on how closely they adhere to these moral rules. In a situation where these rules have been broken I often find it validating to communicate my feelings of hurt with others as this allows me to gain closure. Thanks for listening. - |

No worries if its not. Wiping the smile off the targets face after he has spent the last 15 minutes smacking and telling my corpie "he was gonna die" in local was enough for us.
It wasnt me who was in the 1v1 it was a corpie, and it was a hurricane vs Navy Mega - the ships agreed on before the fight began.
Proves the point once again that buying expensive fittings and ships doesnt make you a good pvper...
Another question on a similar related topic (this person in question) he and a few friends corp hopped to a corp we were at war with (their sister corp), before immediately undocking and getting a gank on another corpie (joining to ganking less than 30 seconds adding 4 people to the corp). Is this counted as an exploit or petitionable? Again we aint butt sore - we lost a Geddon but killed a faction fitted Navy Apoc 5 worth 3.6 billion minutes later so that more than covered the loss...

The only issue with people docking to save their ship is that the fight shouldn't have been on station anyway. Whenever I have had a duel I have always done it at a planet, doing it at station is just begging for the loser to dock imo. ] |

For me a 1v1 only means you've agreed to have a fight with another player that only involves you and the other play involved. Anything goes once you get there, the only deal breaker is if another pilot gets involved. If you don't hold point or they dock it sucks but its your fault for not holding point/fighting on a station.
However there are many lame things that they can do that don't break the 1v1 but also suck the big two being fitting ecm and fitting specifically to tank them. á á

Someone else coming in that is friendly to them helping them = dishonour
WT of you completely unrelated to them = you being an idiot
Them getting Rrepped= dishonour BY RREPPER, sometimes neutrals like to be A-holes
them scanning you and fitting specifically agains't your ship = dishonour.
them docking = you beign an idiot. ------------------------------------- My other alt is A Ferrari

I don't do organised 1v1 as I like to fight on the spur of the moment. But as far as I'm concerned if one participant allows the other to get away then fair play. If you're fighting a 1v1 on a station then you're asking for someone to dock up on you. - Read My Blog |

Neither do i hense why i was asking for peoples opinions. Just thought it was lame - the fact they docked isnt an issue, proving a point and embarrassing the person in question was all we needed to get out of it

Not puch of a PvP'er, but if a 1v1 was agreed, and the guy docks up rather than loose his ship... then I would have to say that he most deffinatly is a looser.

Solo... one person, one ship... all you can muster for the fight without remote assistance, gang bonuses or what have you. Also, you don't have to set up to be comepletely even but if I see you sniffing out what ship im in first I'm well within my rights to cancel the deal.

This reminds me of when I went online to play internet chess. I started on beginer and everyone I played was way better like they were padding their win loss record on the newbs. After a few hours, I'm getting a little better and start to come close to winning. I finaly get a match with someone who is only like 3-0. My record is like 0-8 at this point. So... I'm playing this guy and its close but all of a sudden he makes a bad play and I jump on him. I'm extatic, I'm about to win my first match....
Hey where the **** did he go????
I never played internet chess again.
Moral of the story = give me all your stuffs before you quit. Also, it is pathetic when people do that but I bet their W/L is pretty good.

Dont engage on stations and fit tackle and he can't so easily just quit the fight... of course theres wcs buf if he brings those to a 1v1 he loses by proxy.

I'm not saying I feel sorry for him. I think Eve is not made for 1 vs 1 in the fashion people try to do it around here. Eve is made for ganking, tricking and cheating. Thats the way it is. The real problem here is expecting a real 1 vs 1 in EVE. Even if you decide to fight fair I don't think you can expect the same. Hope maybe.

1v1's:
ONE person versus ONE other person.
Warping off = FAIL! Your buddies enter grid = FAIL! Breaking any pre-agreed-upon rules = FAIL!
I think that basically sums it up.
For those of you guys who are saying 1v1's are stupid and so on and so forth, maybe try blobbing less and maybe you'll see that pewing a single person is a lot of fun.

Oh, I see... You're playing a differnt game is all. You're playing "death match tournament in spaceships". The rest of us are playing EVE.
