Capitalization has nothing to do with showing respect or honoring someone. It serves an important function in written language. Before you come back with a snarky remark, remember... you were the one that said "thank Christ." Seems like if you wanted to thank someone, the least you could do is capitalize their name.

I think this is a good thing, might bring more players to EVE
Think about it, going from big "scary" orc to a space sandbox game with no levels and ffa economy etc might seems "dangerous", but if you go through and get the space part out in another game, changing to EVE might not be so intimidating for some people

...maybe that's his real name? Either way, lay off him. If he doesn't wanna capitalize chirst then that's up to him (although why he would thank christ if that's the case, is beyond me) -------------------------------- Screw you guys, I'm going home |

First you take a jab at religion, then you take another at people who care about being understood by others through written English...
Lemme guess, your encore will be to insult your own self because of how cute both babies and kittens are.

in other news... star trek online remains as insignificant as other cryptic games. i'm pretty sure they will nerf photon torpedoes to the level of pea shooter as a part of weapons diversification.
i'll rip my eyes off if it doesn't lose half of its playerbase in 6 months.

After reading the only thing I can think of saying is...
Do people think outside of the box anymore? Honestly it's all fine and dandy that we'll have "more customization options than we can shake a stick at" but that doesn't matter if it's all just your typical RPG painted to the tune of Star Trek.
Quote: Another somewhat unique aspect of the game is how players will "level up" their characters. I use that phrase loosely in this preview because in Star Trek Online, you'll gain ranks in the military (read: Federation or KDF). For example, obtaining the equivalent of what you might call "level 7" will be "Lieutenant: Rank VI". Obtaining higher ranks will allow players access to more advance kits and other various awards. We'll have more on these awards in another article.
That's not unique. It's a pretty general feature found most commonly in FPS games like Call of Duty... Sounds generic and dull to me.

Edited by: Cardiana on 02/09/2009 10:02:58 i predict for the future no one will play this games anymore
we will have grown up and not spend our time on these dull games including eve online anymore but instaed bath in that which is the soul ocean
should we ever grow up that isright now i simply dont see it
which reminds me i still have some dull repeating misions to do
...
...
my sanity i must have it forgotten somewhere here i am sure
...
tbh the last true invention in computer gaming that i stumbled upon was in anno 1404
it had a msg pop up after 2 hour of continous gameplay saying to better make a break and then again after 4 hours or was it already 3 i am not sure but that was a great feature
eve needs this desperately

Lowlights include: Micro transactions that will be "mostly cosmetic additions", and this delightful sentence; "Of course it wouldn't be an MMO without guild raids and PvP. During our questioning, both were confirmed."
I don't expect I'd be ridiculed if I predicted this "PvP" would have almost no consequences.
Also, lol @ the special olympics happening in this thread. -omg-
