Banking -- there should be a way to deposit your ISK into an account that earns interest. Other players can operate banks, borrow ISK and pay interest. The banker could also sell loans. If not to involve other players then the banker can be an NPC that pays varying interest based on locale and markets.

Why SHOULD there be? There are a few Player banks out there already but it all relies on trust, as they might just walk away with your money.
And if theres an NPC banks people will just deposit hundreds of billions of isk into there and life off the free isk. There shouldnt, and wont be, a way to make free isk by doing absolutly nothing.

That used to happen in Merchant Empires (dunno whether it still is).
Alliances would simply spend a lot of time in the start and build up a lot of money, then live off the interest for the rest of that game round.
Bad idea all around. In EVE, you should NOT get something without working for it (which should also be applied to datacores)....

As has been said, 0 risk revenue is a no no. With player banks, you have the issue of trust. Which is good.

At the very least, "ghost" datacore farming should be purged. If your account runs out, everything should stop (market orders, datacores..everything)

I was thinking about this earlier, funnily enough. But came to the conclusion that theonly way you could really do it would be by leaving some collateral ie a ship, a rare implant or just a bunch of velspar. Pay interest when you pick it back up, umm, yea, pawning.
Conclusion: Unless a deposit is left then its too risky. If items are left the banker would have too much work to do keeping track of prices and it would be a pointless cost exceeding profit excersise.

I think a better way to implement this would be to introduce a stock market, make it possible to buy shares in npc corporations and have the share price rise/fall depending on in game actions and events. Shares pay out dividend every month or so, and would also give people fun chance of playing the stock markets to make isk.

I'm pretty sure Corps can issue shares already.
Anyway, there's a perfectly good stock market in Eve at the moment, with graphs and everything... it's called "The Market".
Seriously every item in Eve is like buying stock.
For the adventurous you can see what updates are coming in a patch, and try and predict what effect that will have on markets. Then buy and sell accordingly.

Player corps can issue shares, I was referring to NPC corps (like carthum, Viziam etc). And yes, thats trading, slightly different though.
