to a station 0.0 space. It said that the owner didn't like me, my corporation or alliance. It was a 1MM ISK payment and 25MM ISK collateral. Is this a scam? I tried leaving the system but was blown trying to get to the gate.

I thought it was wrong / exploit / petitionable to set up contracts like that but it happens so often that I think I am the one who is wrong. Regardless, don't take contracts to 0.0 unless you know you can deliver it.

Hang on, 1MM is 1 million million, is 1 TRILLION ISK? And you had 25 TRILLION ISK available for collateral?
Maybe they wanted the item. Maybe they didn't. Either way, they got your 25MM ISK. |

1MM = 1,000,000, just habit. In the bond market, "M" means thousands and "MM" means millions.

Why is that? Thousand already has 'k' as metric prefix..

Lenghty discussion on the subject
It's not a scam, you should have done your homework. Outposts are privately owned and not just anyone can dock, check your docking right situation before trying to deliver there (unless you are red to CVA you can dock in outposts in Providence for example). -- 081014 : emoragequit, char transfered to a friend, 090317 : back to original owner blog |

It is likely a scam, but could be legit. I have put public contracts up for delivery to my main's 0.0 outposts when our in-house logistics team was occupied with front line deliveries.

It only used to be w/e/p if the destination is a point where no normal player should be able to dock (i.e. some station in Jove space, for instance). I'm not sure it's even possible to create such contracts anymore.
Courier contracts to 0.0 player-owned stations are quite normal - the contract-taker should check what station it is and whether he's likely to have docking rights there or not (hint : if the owner is NOT in any alliance you have "blue" with, chances are pretty damn high you WON'T be able to dock - so don't take the courier).

This is correct. Dunno if you can setup a contract to Jove space, but that's petitionable. However, contracts the player-owned stations are legit. Just make sure you can dock before you accept it.

I seem to remember a Dev blog on this saying it was not allowed any more as a scam to make contracts like that can't be delivered, may have read it differently from some of the previous posts that said it was legit. Look inside the box. If its 1 unit of trit its a scam. Petition it, whats the worst that could happen? also...
I will kill you. |

The contract was issued by Paula Radar and the package had to be delivered to the only station in EC-P8R (0.0 space) Viribis Unitis. The station would not let me dock because it did not like me, my corporation (state protectorate), or my alliance. Frankly it was my first time in 0.0 space so I should have known better. On top of that I saw a history of attempts on the same contract and 9 others failed. Paula Radar currently has a current contract yielding 1M ISK for 25M ISK collateral to J-GAMP (0.0). Look familiar?
Still something to petition?
thanks for the help.

J-GAMP, 9 jumps from Jita, Morsus Mihi sov. Nope, still nothing you should petition.
If it was a courier contract to Polaris or other Jove systems, sure, you COULD petition.

No peeking. It was my second courier contract so I didn't want to risk a breach and lose my collateral, go figure.
