Hi guys!
I've try the exploration tutorial. I lauched probes and I finaly found a signal, triangulated it and my signal got 100%... but, I could warp there! How do I warp to my probe, is there a button or something?
Thank you!

I believe you have to hit it with 4 probes to warp to it, so toss out a few more if you dont have enough out.

You need to get signal on it with at least four probes before you've pinpointed the thing well enough to warp to it. ----- |

as people in this thread have suggested, you dont ahve enough probes out.
let me explain.
to find where something is by using triangulation, you need to have one piece of information greater then the dimension you are trying to find it in.
if you are trying to find a dot on a piece of paper, you can draw two other dots.
then you can measure the distance between these dots and the dot you are trying to find. this is essentially what you are doing with probing.
but, with only two dots to measure from, there are two potential locations on that paper the dot you are looking for could be (it could be 20cm diagonally down from the seeker-dots, or 20cm diagionally up), so you need a third seeker-dot, which will eliminate one of those possibilities.
feel free to try this with paper, pen and ruler if you want to see the concept in action.
the same holds true for an object in 3d space.
to find an object in 3d space, you need four frames of reference. the best probe layout is a pyramidal shape.imagine a pyramid made of equilateral trianges on each face. place one probe at each of the points with the item you are scanning roughly in the middle, and you will be able to warp to your target. the Luminare titan: lets pop that *****! http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1175042&page=1 |

Vibe - I am sure there are a number of videos that show you how to scan down a site. I suggest going to youtube and searching for something like 'eve scanning tutorial' or something like that.

Could be a bug. Ive scanned many a wormhole and did manage to get one that was green 100% and couldnt warp to it. Also found one that wasnt there when I warped to it but still showed up in the map as a green dot and gave a signal. Bugs.

The numbers are rounded. Sometimes I couldn't warp to a wormhole with 100% signal (yes and 5 probes on it), but it must in reality been 99.999999 % signal. As I improved my skills this ceased to happen. --- Sol: A microwarp drive? In a battleship? Are you insane? They arenĘt built for this! Clear Skies - The Movie |

Don't be so sure. One of the key differences in w-space is that no-one shows up in local unless they say something, so that's no guarantee that they're not hiding behind the nearest moon…
…unless you used ye olde directional scanner, of course. ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |
