You want a real computer game ? Get Zork, makes EVE look easy.
I assume you know what I mean, and of course the rest of the idiots who post here have no clue.
If its easy how are you struggling on the basics? Its clear you have done no tutorials at all or you learned nothing from them, they go through all the basics step by step.
Your attitude to people who are trying to help is astonishing, so your a Troll even if you don't know it.
If the 'idiots' have no clue why bother asking questions? Your wasting our time and yours.
Look at other players posts here and spot how many get the replies you do. And age is no indication of maturity. Maybe stay off the booze and post when sober.

Mr Valkanar: You should not expect us to be very helpful when you, #1: Admit that you canceled the tutorials and have no intention of doing them, #2: Refuse to read the advice people are giving you and then argue with them instead.
EVE is a VERY complicated game, one could say it is one of the most complicated computer games out there to date. Jumping into computer gaming with EVE is a pretty large leap, akin to learning to swim by swimming the english channel! I STRONGLY suggest you consider doing the tutorials, and this time carefully reading the instructions for each step, because the information you need IS in there. If you are unable to find the help section to reset the tutorials you can simply make a new character and run through the tutorial on that so that you can get a grasp of the basics of the game.

All the people who were any good moved on to networking or software development work those who are left doing phone tech support are the people who got taken by the A+ Cert training program sellers so now they have the A+ on their resume and can get an entry level Tech support job but don't have the underlying skillset to move onward.
The OP can't figure out how to use a basic search feature which is frankly the #1 most useful skill in any sort of technical support role which means that in addition to lacking the talent to move up in his chosen profession he lacks a core skill to being moderately effective in his current role.
I mean seriously how the hell can you do tech support without knowing how to use "teh google" or a knowledgebase or Wiki all of which require one to know how to form basic search's to find technical information and fixes.
Such a situation might go a long way to explaining the level of angst and anger he experiences.

Hi Riedle,
I'm not interacting with real humans on this forum or in game, I'm interacting with anonymous morons who treat new customers like dirt.
To make my adventure complete, I bought a Minmatar Burst plus a mining laser I. Went mining in sec. 1 space. Belt was full of other miners. With one burst some one killed me, no warning no nothing. None of the other miners were attacked. This was not an NPC pirate.
I was tracked down by someone from these forums who didn't like me.
No point in continuing the game, as I will never be able to gain enough LSK to get a ship with sufficient defenses to escape the attack from the idiot. Posting a question to the newbie forum was a death sentence.
Nice game you've got here, but a better name for it would be NO WAY OUT, (with apologies to The Chocolate Watchband). Good advice to newbies: Don't ask questions.

Zartanic,
So I'm a complete waste of "our time", we got a nice little junior high school clique going on here ? Enjoy.
I was doing just fine until I asked a question about how to gain a certain skill. It didn't occur to me that adults would treat a game like it was their whole life.
Good luck, loser. Don't forget to tell Mom you want extra pepperoni on the next one.

Guys, it's a troll. No one is this dumb and no one is this rude - and if they ARE real, they're beyond help.
Each thread he makes is about something really simple, and when people give him the actual advice he needs, he flames them.
So just ignore him from now on. Either it's a troll that will get bored or it's a real, albeit stupid and rude player, who'll end up quitting in a month anyway because he can't figure out anything.
Problem solved either way. Ralara's banned again so this is my alt :p |

Hi Ralavina,
Yep the two threads I started asked simple questions. What do you expect in a newbie forum ? If you reread those I believe you will find most of the replies were of the RTFM type. Is this the way newbies are supposed to be treated in a newbie forum ?
I was doing just fine mining, my mistake was posting to the newbie forum. I was tracked down in sec 1 space and killed in one shot w/o warning while other mining ships were left alone.
Yeah, I've got snarky. I paid $ to play the game and it does annoy me that I'm treated like crap and hunted down in game.

No, but then most new players don't start out saying "I refuse to do the tutorials" and then lash out when people give you the correct answer.
The problem you are experiencing at the moment, is that you're a douche.
Quote: I was doing just fine mining, my mistake was posting to the newbie forum.
No, it was being rude and REFUSING to do the tutorials. Which would have answered your questions.
Go do them.

Oh, you're good. This one line should get you a few more pages of flames added to your thread. Congratulations, you've discovered EVE online, a game of un-restricted PVP and smack talk.
BTW, everybody's head is bigger than their brain; the head has to contain the brain, no? So, by definition, bigger.

A game where there are consequences to what you say and do, a LOT better than that safe and sterile bore fest I played when you could change name, server, looks and even race for a few dollars...where idiots roam and the douche bags got away with it (WOW)

Originally by: Valkanar It happened, I got podded. I have about 570,000 sp and thought I was covered up to 900,000 by my medical clone. I'm being asked to cough up about 1.5 billion LSK, which is more than I have. Am I out of luck, or am I misunderstanding ?
Yes, you are misunderstanding.
If you have less than 900k SP there's nothing at all to care about. Just go on playing.
Longer explanation: Your medical backup clone gets activated after your current clone dies (as in your pod gets destroyed; just your ship being blown up does not equal death). If your medical clone type covers less than your current SP you lose some (up to 20% of the skill with the highest points in iirc). That's why you should always upgrade your clone to cover your current SP. Since you only get a basic 900k one for free you need to upgrade it after every death. That was what the tutorial was trying to tell you.
Your mistake was to mix up the number of zeroes of the covered SP of the available clones. You were looking at the clone that covered hundrets of millions of SP rather than one that covers say 1.5 million SP and is just about 100k ISK.
Theres nothing to be recovered to continue playing. After your death your medical clone got activated and you had everything you had before skillpoint wise. You only need to buy a new clone to be prepared for the next time you die. But even that does not apply to you yet since even the basic one you get for free and automatically covers all your current SP.
EVE is complicated and requires thinking twice for every step you do. If it doesn't suit you leave already. Sorry about your spent money. Also you had the chance to try it for free for 14 days. And having payed for an online game always only grants you an authorization to play, not a liability for the game host to actually let you play the way you think you deserve it.
About how you're screwed right now since everybody is out to kill you: 1) Make a new character and play that one. Keep asking weird questions using this one, not to compromize the other one as well. You can transfer all your assets to the other char. How? Kindly ask on the forum or even better use eve-search.com for searching it. or 2) Go to a quiet low sec system and keep doing courier type missions in a shuttle or your rookie ship. The first you won't ever lose unless you did travel using autopilot or being afk in space and the second isn't a loss since you always get another for free. If anyone chases you to low sec they're subject to lose their pretty ships and pricey clones to pirates themselves - a problem you don't have (yet).

I got the tutorial come up when I logged into the game. It prompted me as to how many SP I wished to to retain, and gave me the price. For 450,000 SP it required over 1 billion $. Pardon me if this is not CCP. How would I know, and what should I do ?
I don't understand why I am being treated like a troll. I like the game but am a newbie. I've never played any PC or console games before, thought it might be fun.
I took the 14 free day trial and then paid for a months play. I didn't pay my money to annoy anyone, I payed because I like the game. Sorry if I am not knowlegable about computer games.
There is no way on this or any other planet that it would cost you that much for a clone. No. Not possible. I have 93 million skill points, and it does not cost that much. Some how you are being played for a sucker by a scammer, or you are not telling something.
It seems to me that even this newbie forum is not really open to newbies.
I'm spending more time here than in game play.

I think a couple people sort of gave you an answer but I did skim the last page. Let me see if I can clarify a bit.
From what I understand you are actually trying to buy a new clone (which is a good thing to do after you are podded). That is why its asking you to pay, the payment has nothing to do with what already happened, its a payment to get a new clone to protect you from future poddings.
Yes the top clone cost an arse load, in the billions. You need to scroll down the clone list. For some reason it seems to set your curser in the middle of the high grade clones when you got to buy a new one. You will actually want the one at the very bottom of the list or close too it. They are very cheap.
