Silly newbie here. After my first few days of playing, I wanted to get a ship with a large cargo bay to cut down on return trips while mining and it never occurred to me that there might be ships that you can't mount a mining turret on.
So I bought a Kestrel. Which I now know has no turret mounts. Is there any way to mine using a Kestrel or do I need to get rid of it?

other solution would be to use it for some agent missions to get fresh money for a mining vessel ;)
no police, no summons, no courts of law; no proper procedure, no rules of war; no mitigating circumstance; no lawyers fees, no second chance! |

Does the Kestrel have a drone bay? (Never flown one.) If so, you could use a mining drone. If nothing else, you would meet a lot more people because everyone who saw you would chat you up just to ask "You're using a Kestrel... for mining?!"

Well, I got myself a Bantam, a Cargo Expander and two Miner 1's. I'm gonna hold on to the Kestrel in case I find a need for it in the future, since I already have it.
No, the Kestrel does not have a drone bay.
One good thing that came out of this is that I now know some things to look at before I buy anything.
Thanks for the replies.
