Always get ship skills to 4, and in many cases 5 is optimal (like for Logistics or Recons). ---

It's a T2 ship. You dont even undock it until you have the ship skill at 4.
If you like flying it, you get that to 5.

*sigh*
while you train Interceptors 4, get some more ships sorted out. A couple of T1 tackle frigates, and a gank cruiser (unless caldari then you bring a blackbird).

Not saying that it isn't worth training, I'm saying that I shouldn't even undock until I have it at IV, have thermodynamics at IV, and probably sometign else. I'm currently in a +3 clone out in the middle of curse (where my corp used to be) and I'm not risking it to get it all the way to heimatar. ---- My Music

If you already have an interceptor where you are it is practically impossible to get yourself killed if you are paying attention. Even bubbles are not that big of an issue. All you need is a MWD and a couple I-stabs and you will be able to gate crash any bubble and out align any fast tackle. ---------- This post brought to you by the worst PVP'er in Eve |

I wouldn't recommend Interia stabs as they increase your signature radius, thus you get targeted by others faster... Nanofiber FTW. But yeah, you are obviously interested in my post because you're now reading my signature. |

I used to flew crows at interceptors 1 for a long time who needs sig radius reduction when you are going almost 10km/s, or some missile speed increases.
nowadays it might be worth to have at 4. and for other intys I'm pretty sure they have bonuses that you want at 4 (or even 5) You're posting again!? Has it really been 5 mins?

For PvP you want to have the ship skill to IV before using it on a regular basis. It doesn't take long to train and it is the standard that you should aim for. If you find yourself flying it very often then it is usually worth looking at training the skill to V although I personally would rather train up other ships and perfecting support skills first as I find thatto be more fun long term, but that is down to preference.
Some ships get a very nice bonus between IV and V so those ships are most certainly worth training to V.

Interceptors fall into this category. Going from 200% sigbloom to 125% sigbloom is huge.

Confirming interceptor 5 is great on the tackle ceptors. ===
