I just had to grab some stuff at Intaki V - 5 station and undocked and I had to sc**** my jaw off the desk.
This planet is like, [in eve terms] breathtaking. Why does it get treatment and the rest of the planets look like poo?

They all look like poo and need some special attention. You're just too used to those horrible balls CCP calls planets, that you can't tell the difference between a breathtaking planet and that faux planet.

...I wanna be an astronaut nao. :(
Speaking of S'jet, the last mission of Homeworld 2 is planet-from-orbital-view done right. The stations in EVE are just too far away from their respective planets for a real sense of scale or wonder. So when planets get a revamp... they should see their stations moved closer as well. >.> *** Awake in a Space-Dye Vest Struggling with Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence Falling Into Infinity toward a New Millennium While trapped inside this Octavarium. |

Planet done right: X3: Reunion/Terran Conflict
Who would place stations so far away from the planets anyway? What purpose does that serve other than more fuel consumption? Where's planet viewing tourism? Where's the restaurant with the awesome tables next to the windows?

There's a nice looking one in Irjunen, you can see landmasses and moving clouds as it spins. It's by the CPF station, Caldari space.

Yeah, X3 looks really good. The planets look like planets rather than textured billiard balls and it has real asteroid belts that stretch as far as the eye can see.
I really hope that the new planets in Dominion look really good. I want to be blown away by how good they look when I fly by.

Well actually if the station is there mainly to serve space-faring and -dwelling population then the further away from the planet it is, the better since ships don't need to go so deep into the gravity well of the planet.
And then there is the Lagrangian points which would be pretty ideal places for station (less course corrections needed).

I think the fact it's blue instead of mud brown or gray that gives it it's appeal.
