I've got some extra cash saved up and I desperatly need a new mouse. Been using a trackball for years and the thing is just about dead.
I've looked at razors and cyborgs (online) and others, and while they're a bit expensive I'll get one if they're worth it. Give some props to your favorite mouse and post it.

I've had a logitech G5 forever it seems. The leather is nicely worn in by now.

I personally use a Logitech G500
Love it. Its got most of the feature of the G5. But here click a button in the center and the mouse wheel rotates freely. I find myself subconsciously expecting the mouse wheel to spin every time i have to scroll down a large amount of text. What does it do for gaming? Precisely nothing, but it works great for browsing.
Also i personally always use the weight caddy completely empty. Honestly don't see the appeal of a heavier mouse.
Couple of snags though, the pleated cord got got breached in one place and the plastic wire is sticking out. Also the right mouse was spotty for a few days, but mysteriously fixed itself somehow.

I'm using a Logitech MX something or another. It's black on the sides with programmable buttons and silver down the middle.

I have 18g in my caddy, 3 in the top slots and one in the lower left. I like the weight distributed like this, seems to work well, there's just a "good feel" when I move the mouse with a little weight under it. I guess it's be like a pool stick or a golf club, some people like a little weight. You know what an answer is? It's a terminus -- an end. Answers are fine, but questions are where it's at. yeah, I know what you mean Ituhata. Nothing better than a good mouse. Gonna be hard to toss this one out for a new one.
lol Danger Mouse!
Lots of logitech out there. tbh, I didn't even think of them as gaming mice, good info to know. In the last 10 years I've had 2 mice so not much experience on my end considering technology is changing so fast.
Any other brands out there that are decent? |

I have a Razer Death Adder, which I wouldn't recommend. It overheats.
If I could have it without the overheating, I'd be happy with it. although my eyes were open they might have just as well've been closed

ok I'm kinda curious as to what's inside that thing to make it overheat. You know what an answer is? It's a terminus -- an end. Answers are fine, but questions are where it's at. I am very curious to find out what makes a mouse overheat... I've thought of several reasons one might overheat, but I'm having a hard time connecting them to normal computer use...

I use a G300. It's small and light and helps with my grip a lot. I incidentally moved from an MX518. But I agree with Akeirei, if you ain't using Logitech... |

Most Logitech mice have horrendous angle snapping, especially the MX518. Thankfully you can disable it on the G500 though.
I'm currently using a Microsoft Habu but it's starting to wear down a bit and screw up, was a great mouse while it lasted though. |

I had this old mouse once, actually i still may have it laying around, had the two usual buttons but instead of a scroll wheel, it was more like an up and down rocker switch. |

Thankfully you don't have to install Logitech custom mouse software to use the mouse, and when you do you don't need to leave straight-line correction switched on.
The Mx518, Mx510 and G300 are my favourites. |

Trouser.
I have my naga epic, I like it quite a bit. I used to have the G5, and before that the microsoft intellimouse. I've been mouse-spoiled.
(don't dis the intellimouse, theres a huge outcry for them to rerelease it, it was perfect for shooters) You don't know |

Cyborg R.A.T 7, is the only way to go.. Fully customizable. you can take the mouse apart and build it to the specifics of the size of your hand, you can customize the pinky finger rest, thumb rest, palm rest (it slides back and forth depending on the size of your hand), adjust the weight of the mouse, awesome DPI adjustment for those precision shots! Theres a button at the side where you rest your thumb that you press and it lowers the DPI to whatever you have it set as, i use it for sniping in games. Im sure that is probably standard in most gaming mice though.
You get 3 different grips with it also!
Probably the best peripheral purchase i have made in a long time! Comes with a 2 year warrenty also. |
