Please try turning off "Auto Bitrate" on the checkerboard icon near the bottom right of the player. If you are using the HD player, you won't see that option so try try tuning into the SD player and using one the standard or low bitrate feed here. -- |

several issues I am having, the 'buffering' just turns on and off according to it's mood. Eventually the video will freeze and the sound will carry on. The positive side to that is the buffering stops.

Some questions that could help narrow things down...
What level stream is this happening on ?? HD / Standard / Low? Do you have Auto-adjust switched on? What type of internet connection do you have? What location in the world are you?
Thanks. -- |

Using the viewersD.sap - Standard stream, Standard / Low quality both - Auto-adjust off. 2M ADSL connection, location Finland. breaks 1-2 times per match and per filler-talks.

I'm having the same problem with the 720p player.
Tried switching to the SD player with aouto adjust turned off with the same results.

Is VLC identifying the (HD) stream correctly, because it's claiming that it's playing at 100fps... That would be nice of course, but wouldn't 50/60 be enough? It might reduce the smearing when the camera moves a lot or something "energetic" happens on screen. And of course only the battles can be at such a high fps, even HD cameras only go up to 50/60 to my understanding.

I was having lots of trouble with the HD stream (rebuffering & reconnecting) until I moved my PC directly to my cable modem bypassing my POS Linksys WRVS4400N router.
Working great now!

question: is the idea of bringing a hauler to the tournament really so farfetched, considering the abundance of low and mid slots?

just wanted to ask if others are having connectivity issues with the HD stream... I am only able to keep a stable connection active for about ~20min, sometimes is dies out much eariler.
The stream seems to always be reconnecting but it would be nice if it would not stutter out.
Very greatful for the HD stream, thank you.
(I am using a 12/1.5Mbps connection out of Las Vegas)

So basically I am screwed and should stop trying because whatever system they are working with it doesn't play well with people not on their pro setups. Welp

The feed has gone rubbish for me since the break.
All afternoon I've been running the HD feed nice and large, no buffering, no pausing and superb quality.
Now nothing has changed here at all but now I'm having to use the standard feed with auto adjust unticked and the quality set to standard and I'm still getting lots of buffering and catching up. It's awful.

allright, been using the hd stream and im using a 4,4mb line and live in norway and i have been getting the "buffering stream" messeage and breake upp all the day. sometime 1-2 breake upps per 30 mins, other times 6-7 per 10 mins.
no differense if i use the hd stream or the standard stream and the auto adjust have been on the whole time.

just to confirm, having "auto-adjust" switched on is more likely to increase buffering issues if you are seeing them. Auto-Adjust will try and select the stream based on available bandwidth - and if you are right near the threshhold to go between standard and HD, or low and standard, it might bounce you between them (causing it to reconnect and buffer when it happens).

Edited by: Anjin Sahn on 19/09/2009 19:09:12 I've had to drop it to low quality and it's buffered maybe 20 times during that fight.
Seriously, it's gone really bad. I've made sure that nothing but this computer is using my internet connection.
/edit - I have auto-adjust turned off.

HD stream breaking every few seconds, Standard w/o auto adjust works ok. However the streaming client locksup after a few minutes (Win XP / Mac OS X bot the same).
I got 16 MBit downstream :(

it doesn't seem to matter if I have that checked or not. I've wandered aimlessly through the internet to see if my connection just won't stream low quality videos and that has turned out to not be the case. I'm not sure what else I can do but rage so I am now currently rageing.

I'm also having issues with it buffering a lot, with the video stopping and audio continuing, then 10-20 seconds later the stream dropping and reconnecting. I tried the standard stream and it actually performed worse with auto-adjust both off and on. When the HD stream is running it looks great, but it breaks up quite often, mostly during the switches between the studio and the match.

now its buffering allmoust constantly for 1 min then its falls out then it comes back, works perfect for 5-7 mins and then the whole buffering**** again. and it gets worse the clouser we get to the end of the broadcast.

This player is terrible. It constantly buffers and frame-freezes.
I just ran a speed test, and I've got 10Mbps even with the video playing. It's not my bandwidth.
The player seems to be reading from a file as it streams somehow(the progess bar). This player doesn't even seem designed for live streaming. It looks like a YouTube player adapted for playing from a live-buffered file.
Also, Tom Green is creepy.
