Howdy all,
For the last couple of years playing Eve, I've been a dedicated gallente pilot. Wanting to play around with some new toys, I've decided now to cross train some amarr.
The ships I'm particularly interested in are the assault frigates, interceptors, hacs and recons. I know that the curse is damn good (having died to a few in my time) and I'm aware the zealot is rated pretty high as a sniper and mid range hac. What I don't know much about are the af's and inty's. The vengeance looks decent, but with only 1 mid slot I wonder if its too restricted for pvp, whilst the retribution also looks fairly fun, but more suited to pve than pvp. with regards to the inty's, the crusader looks like it'd be good for solo roaming, whilst the malediction seems to be an effective gang tackler.
Could any experienced amarr players give me some pointers on these ships with respect to their efficiency at small gang and solo 0.0 pvp.
Many thanks

This is EVE. If you give it half the chance, it will go Ted Turner on your balls.

HACs and Recons are awesome (I have cross trained all 4 races). The retribution with it's 1 mid slot isn't the best for pvp, but with pulse lasers in gang the tracking speed is good enough to make nearly any ceptor cry. The vengeance has a stupid good tank with the bonuses, and can tank upwards of 300 dps actively with a dual rep setup, which makes it a good tackler but rockets suck... I'd personally either fit blasters or autocannons on it.
Zealot is good fun if you like getting top damage on killmails, but it's not the best solo. Curse is fun for any turret ship, but I don't have a lot of experience with the Sac or Pilgrim.. ------------

Thanks for the info. I love my small ship pvp so am eager to try the af's and inty's.
With regards to the sacrilidge, does anyone have experience with this? I can't decipher a use for it beyond bait ship or damage sponge in plexes.

The AFs have serious flaws (lolRockets and 1 mid respectively) while Gallente ones rock. The crusader rocks, but, the taranis is better.
If you already have gallente, the only Amarr ships sub BS that'll beat what you've already got in-shiptype are the harbinger, zealot, and the recons.
Which are all of course really great ships . But stay to the gallente frigates. |

Hmm, I'll have to have a try ofc, but I'll bear this in mind. And yea, I'm looking forward to the tech2 cruisers.
Thanks

You're all forgetting the best T2 amarr cruiser, the Guardian
Like others have said, the Vengeance is a nice heavy tackler in a gang, the Malediction makes a great tackler. Zealot is great at range, Pilgrim is nice solo, Curse is solid in a medium/small gang, Sacriledge can be a decent heavy tackler, kind of like the Vengeance.

Retribution isn't bad despite the mid slot gimp. I was testing it out on sisi with the proprosed AB changes and lemme say it's pretty fast not to mention you can get some good dps out it.
