So i just reactivated my account, it was last active right after apocrypha launched but i never had a chance to start looking for wormholes. Now that im back I'd like to do some exploring, what kinds of ships and fittings are people using for this and can you make some decent ISK doing it?
Thanks for the help.

Cov-ops with science mods and gravity capacitor upgrades for normal space, I usually keep something shooty near by to take care of any sig rats.
For longer W-space expeditions, a passive drake or Myrm works well, allowing science mods while still having enough slots for tank. You'll need a buddy with you because sleepers are tough nuts to crack.
If you're planning on just quick forays, you can still use the cov-ops, scan down all the sigs in a hole and come back with something shooty.

To start off with you want a racial probing frigate ( will have a scanning bonus ) and the racial frigate at 4. Astrometrics at 4 as well and the other Astrometric skills all at 3.
After that you can work towards a covops and pimp with Sisters faction gear.

I am just about to get into exploration in the wormholes. Is cov-ops really what I want to use? Will they be able to run the sleeper sites or are they just for finding them? Right now I'm in a harby will that work until I can get into cov-ops?

Edited by: Dodgy Past on 24/09/2009 17:01:26 The covops won't run the sites, that for sure.... and a harbie isn't a bad choice for C1 / C2 w-holes, though for C2 you'll need good skills.
The problem is that to fit both a probe launcher and a salvager ( which you want to help earn loads more isk ) you're somewhat gimping your damage dealing.
Personally I'd use a scanning alt cloaked at a safe spot while the harbinger did the sites.

I use a Buzzard to scan down the sites I'm interested in and bookmark them all. Then I bring in a passive fit Drake (C1 and C2 w-space) to run the sites. Make sure the combat ship has a probe launcher. I fit a science module depending on what I'm trying to do...usally a salvager for the combat sites.

Why bother with the buzzard if you're going to equip a launcher on the combat ship?

It's a lot quicker and easier to scan down sigs in a Cov-ops.
