So far the only ship that really springs to mind is the Sac, since it is very tanky.
It did also cross my mind that maybe a passive shield tank on a Harbinger could be an option but not ideal. Not too keen on the idea of traversing low sec in a mission fit BS.
Edit: Did also cross my mind that I might go with a laser / NOS Myrm as a possible third option.

I have been having great success with a shield tanked curse, fit drone control units and sit out at 70km + drone sniping taking no damage

Just out of interest, and I don't wanna open up a new topic for this. Kinda falls in-line with this one. I'm looking to go into plexes as well, and not the hardcore ones to begin with. I'm completely new to this, but not EvE, so I have the skills to fly ships (both by SP, and experience) and same goes for cov ops, and rpobes (not very good at probing, though) I have HAC 5, and in a few days I'll be able to fly every T2 cruiser of every race. Not so trained with battlecruisers, and on the way for guns (got missiles, and drones already)
Anyway, to the point. Up to the "not so hard core" plexes what ship should I fly, and how to fit them? I've seen different suggestions around, but most, if not all are for w-space, or 0.0 plexing. Now, the ships I have interest in are: Cerberus Sacrilege Ishtar (Shield, or armor?)
Haven't seen any use of other hacs anywhere, but if they apply...
I don't expect 6/10 to require a battleship, or does it?

Edited by: Lili Lu on 27/09/2009 01:11:04 Well, without me knowing what rats' plexes you are wanting to run, you have deduced the best ship for the general task, the Sacrilege. A Sacrilege will tank Guristas and Angels quite well. Alternately a Damnation, but then speed and sig radius aren't as favorable. Both ships use missiles so they can shoot the kinetic or explo right back at those rats' weakest resists.
The Absolution can be set up to have good resists against Sansha and Blood Raiders. However, the neuting and tracking disruption can hit it unpleasantly with those rats. Rogue Drones are where the Absolution really shines. It already has good explo resist and you simply have to plug the thermal hole. Also the lasers work very well against the rogue drones. To a lesser extent the Absolution will work well against Serps, again plugging that thermal hole securely.
Please do not try to passive shield regen tank an Amarr laser ship. It will not go well.
edit- you do realize that the higher you go no matter what ship you are flying the less chance you will have to solo. Really you should be bringing two other people with you. Another damage dealer and a logistic ship (logistics ship or something like a Domi that has plentey of utility highs for rr). Possibly just the Domi, but again 0.0 plexes can be an eye opener sometimes
