Capitalism is a system where your achievements are measured by how much money you can make out of it. Unfortunately this leads to all kind of fail. In my field of study, for example, this means that the companies will seek to develop medicines that suppress symptoms rather than cure individual of the disease because obviously if the person remains sick they will be stuck buying the drug all life long generating more money for the company. Capitalism in its raw is a very flawed system.
Europe seems to do a better job of suppressing all these right-wing religious nuts that flourish in US.

lol, you think i just made those numbers up?
i don't know why there are such extreme differences in the results of different studies, but i guess we can trust the UN's data (even if it's a bit old).
you should check out http://www.gapminder.org/ - it lets you set the UN's databases to the X and Y axis and shows different countries over time. can't find a crime set though.

from wikipedia "The terms Internet and World Wide Web are often used in every-day speech without much distinction. However, the Internet and the World Wide Web are not one and the same. The Internet is a global system of interconnected computer networks. In contrast, the Web is one of the services that runs on the Internet. It is a collection of interconnected documents and other resources, linked by hyperlinks and URLs. In short, the Web is an application running on the Internet."
Sir Tim Berners-Lee is credited with the original idea for the www, much to the credit of this brilliant man, but he did not invent the internet. The TCP/IP based network, which is what the internet runs on, is very much an American invention.

Yes they are statistics and different people studies come up with different numbers.
So yes, until you have a link to the numbers you say then you have made them up. In your own words the link you just posted does not even have crime statistics available. So until those are on option on that site then I will stick with the numbers I have presented.

Well, in a way he did. It was his idea to create a network between computers in different cities. He laid the foundation for TCI/IP based communication, which eventually lead to the internet. But he wasn't the only person working on the project and at the time he was working with DARPA which is the government agency that funded the project. -

You're ether a troll, or a really stupid American. Ether way, stop watching Faux News, CNN, or any other TV based news. Any country that dumps sick people on the street to die is NOT best by a long shot.
Socialized medicine isn't bad as you ignorantly put it. Its only bad for the insurance companies because they're profiting off our misery hand over fist. Guess what? You're already paying for socialized medicine! What do you think Medicare is? Yes, you are paying money into it, but you can't use it yet. Do you know what else? Medicare doesn't have death panels like our politicians claim socialized medicine will. They don't have long ass waiting lists like they claim socialized medicine will. Patent satisfaction is higher with Medicare than it is with private insurance as well. To bad you have to be 65 and older to use Medicare.
You'll understand once your private insurance drops your policy because its not going to make them any money if they cover your medical treatment, leaving you to die a slow and painful death. Seriously, if you are not a troll and you actually believe what people are saying about socialized medicine then you really need to educate yourself. Right now you're making our country look bad. -

The use of the expression socialism here is disgusting, because originally it means a society without a goverment and with no property in production machines for someone.
The methods to develop the industry in the 20th century was different. Most goverments faced the problem that many worker weren't able to fullfill the needs of the industry. The US choosed the easy way to import workers from other countrys and continue today. Several european states hadn't this choice and the socialdemokrats developed a new model. They financed the education system for all, builded up a system to minimize the risk, that a valueable worker can't work the rest of his live and can't fullfill the needs of the industry. Japan and Sweden are very good examples on this. The advantage is, the state is getting well educated workers relativly fast, without the need to import someone.
Both models, the US and the european have the same goal, to support their own industry. Both had their success at different times. But then came the chinese in and they have the same goal as the others. They have good knowledge in Karl Marx his Capital and decided to get away from a goverment controlled economy, because it was too inefficient. At this time the chinese made an offer to the western sphere, to produce in China for a part of the cost. The US believed they can control China like southamerika and moved the production to the east. At this time the US was loosing control over production and capital. The remaining economy is mainly based on finance and service, but is doesn't generate new capital to finance the service sector. The european doesn't have the same problem, but another, that the productivity is so high, that profit is continous sinking because of the overproduction.
Neither US nor europeans are better. They choosed different ways. The only disguisting thing in the US are the religious fascist, like creationist, who spreading a messages which is a offence for the mind of every intelligent citizen.

2nd. "American dream" (??) I have seen on youtube **** loads of people staying without a home in 1 day . In Europe u need have IQ less 50, to get such loans and be on the street in 1 day. Are you Americans starting to waking up ?
3rd. Do you guys actualy believe that Europe has bigger resecion then USA ? Becouse i can tell you from the 1st. hand on the spot, that Europe is 90% beter and stable then USA in this second.
I feel bad for you guys/girl, that tv's are pumping this nonsense in your mind .
Tnx and i want to see really the response to the "mothers basement", i'm seriusly curios.
1. 'merikin basement is better than ur commie europe basements. I didn't watch my buddy die in the mud in Vietnaam to listen to your elitist basement ideas
2. I'm not sure i understood your question. I'm gonna say in a-mareca we don't give people IQ tests or any other sissy stuff. We dont care who you are when we throw you into the street. Thats capitalism. You + no rent = in the street. I dont care who ya are. (unless it's me, then they'll be lookin down the barrel of my shotgun)
3. In USA the recession is bigger. ****, everything is bigger here. thats why it's the USA! U-S-A! U-S-A! U-A-S! U-S-A! U-S-A!
and seriously, my mother's basement kicks ass. It's in Austin TX and it has a pool table and a keggerator with handles at the top to hold onto for easy keg stands.
Shoot, none of you guys in europe wouldn't ah had basements till ya dug em hiding from the germans. Yeah, you can thanks us for taking care of that little problem.
/wanted response to fit the cliche
"one more spam thread will get you a warning. - Thanks Hutch. " isn't a warning of a warning a warning? or just a warning of a warning? didnt he just get 'the warning'?

1. Living in your mothers basement is a joke. In a basement you never see light, so will end up light skinned and dependent on parents past the age of 20.
2. American dream is to own a house, have a job, be married and have a family.
3. America probably thinks the recession is worst there.

So heres the thing. Half of America is comprised of of uneducated, gun toting, god fearing, easily impressionable idiots. These are the people that tend to think Sara Palin can chart a successful course for this country. These are the people that call Obama a Socialist because of a Bush policy. (they also call him a Communist or a Marxist, or a Fascist, or even a Baathist if it suits their needs) These are people who say that they have "a God given right to own weapons" as if God has an opinion on the issue. These are people that still think the rest of the world lives in squalor and misery. These are the people that think government is incapable of doing anything to benefit the populous, but the military, department of homeland security, FBI, CIA, and police and fire departments are without fault and should be held in the highest esteem. These are the people that pose a grave threat to not only America, but to world stability as a whole. (See George W. Bush)

Do the uneducated, gun toting and god fearing impressionable idiots have to have all 3 characteristics or are they each their own group of impressionable idiots?
Sarah Palin did seem to do a rather good job as governor, I mean her state was running a surplus on the budget weren't they? How is California doing these days, or for that matter New York (bankrupt if I'm not mistaken).
As far as God having an opinion on weapons, I supposed it would depend on which God you ask.
I think most of the world does still live in squalor and misery, maybe I'm missing this Utopia you speak of.
Bush bashing? Really? He was a bigger threat to world stability then Muslim extremists? And isn't that argument getting kind of old? I mean how many of the current adminstration's failures can you really blame on the previous one. So far Obama is racking up lower approval ratings while jacking up the deficit to levels that will make Bush's fiscal policy seem tame by comparison.
Call me old fashioned but shouldn't we be reigning in the Government spending instead of taking it to unprecedented new heights? I like what little of my paycheck the government lets me keep, and like to think I still know better than they do what to do with that money (seeing as it's mine and all....)

No, of course they don't have to fall into all three categories, but they tend too.
You really cant not run a surplus in Alaska. The entire state has a population of 680,000, 1/12th the size of the metroplex I live in and huge amounts of oil industry revenue. So much so, that the state of Alaska can afford to give all its residents a divdend just for living in the state. And you try to compare that to California and New York.... fail
I guess it would depend on which god you ask.
A good portion of the world does live in squalor and misery. But as far as the developed nations go, the States are quickly sinking to the bottom of that list on a wide range of metrics such as "Quality of Life", "Education", and "Healthcare"
A strong argument could be made that he was a much bigger threat to world stability then Bin Laden. I don't think the current administration has had many failures. The TARP program (bank bailout) and subsequent bailouts of GM, AIG and the like were a Bush policy supported by both McCain and Obama, a fact now forgotten by the Tea Baggers.
No, when trying to prevent a second great depression its not a time to try and reign in spending. The TARP program and Obama stimulus have been the primary factors that went into mitigating the collapse of the American financial system. As far as your taxes are concerned, you should consider yourself lucky Obama was elected as your taxes will be lower under Obama's plan then they would have been under McCain's. McCain seemed intent on continuing the ******ed version of trickle down economics that Bush pioneered and led to him racking up $5.5 trillion of the $11 trillion national debt

Patient satisfaction is higher with Medicare than it is with private insurance as well.
But... he's elite, how can anything of this world put a dent in his ubermensch spandex?
