There are billions of people who live in this world, 60 are born every second and 50 die every second. Thousands die everyday yet people continue on with their lives without even a single blink or a thought.
People claim that human life is sacred but live contrary to those ideals. People waste food when millions are starving, create pollution that damage the living areas of other people, start wars to for self gain, etc.
From what I see this ideal is a farce it is propaganda that conditions you to accept the laws created by society and civilization. It makes you feel like you have importance and significance, which makes you more willing to serve society and its people.
Human life is anything but sacred, you die, there will be other people to replace you. You are just a number. EVE is what i see as a perfect reflection of human nature.
People kill, steal, cheat, and lie to get ahead. I too myself have done the same thing.
Human life is no different from any other animal's life. Humans are arrogant, they don't want to admit they are the same as animals.
The majority of human are week and meek, they create ideals and rules that comfort them. The ideal that human life is sacred gives them protection by creation of laws. Anything to prevent those superior from replacing them.
As a result humanity has become weak, the weak survive and breed more weak people. It is the cause of many problems in this work, famine, disease, war, etc are a result of weak perpetuating.
Order is comfort for the Weak. The Weak deserve only comfort in Death. |

It makes you feel like you have importance and significance, which makes you more willing to serve society and its people. Too black and white. People are conditioned to follow an orderly society but in a more free society you can question the will of the few. Look how much changes and how different things are from years before.
Their is more then enough food to feed the entire world 5 times over and the reason people starve is warlordism and hoarding in third world nations. Very, very few people starve in a society of plenty and often the barrier is not the lack of will to feed the impoverished but that they do not know where to g to get help. Mental illness plays a big part of that as well as depression.
As for the environment have you seen the amount of work eco campaigns do. Our society just didn't start producing pollution but the industrial era jumped in before we knew the risk. It takes as much time to undue all that has been built as it does to build it and it is hugely expensive to do. We don't even have all the technology and some times can not afford to implement it.

Is Einstein just a number? Hawking? Fleming? Bell? Edison? Ford?
You can not accurately gauge potential. Anyone can impact the world and we move forward on these ground breaking discoveries in leaps and bounds.
No humans are not arrogant for trying to be above the idea of value in life we are visionaries for it. What other creature has accomplished what we have. No life is not at too high a value right now but that doesn't mean we should stop it means we should push forward educating and expanding beyond the boundaries nature buts up and conquer them.

America at the beginning of World War II was not on list of the 10 most powerful Militarizes by the end they topped it. That is what the weak and meek can do, rise.
Order is not the comfort of the weak it is the breeding ground for the strong, allows education, innovation and technology to grow. It festers the will to fight for what you have.
What your the strong survive idea gets you central Africa where they are to busy hacking each other up with Machetes to grow power.
As the value of Human Life raises so does society, when it lowers that is when people are weak. |

Human life is sacred as long as it furthers your own interests or those of the ones you care about, and when it does not, who cares, you can always find some excuse as to why some lives are not that sacred.

I think all life which has achieved consciousness or autonomy is "sacred" or whatever you want to call it. Life is a "miraculous", rare and fleeting part of the universe and can only exist for short periods of time. |

I don't think you'd like the end result of a culture which no longer valued human life. It's time to put an end to CCP's war on piracy. Fight your own battles and stop asking CCP to do it for you. |

Don't think human life is any more sacred than any other kind of life. No more precious than a cow's life or a dandelion's life. Humans go through the birth to death cycle like anything else. Think the bigger point is not to wreck the person's spirit and happiness during the time he/she is alive. The life itself part isn't sacred, it's going to end anyway. |

I don't feel that life should not be held as a good thing. but I do think that when it's appropriate, death is a good solution. bringing back the death penalty and making it something that's more frequently used would be an excellent deterrent to crime. as to those that are saying "oh, if it's not you, your family, or your friends, they don't matter" no, if I were to lose a friend or family member to something like this, I would be disappointed, but it's part of the proper process, so I see it as the continuation of proper law.

Maybe he was in the military? After all, they train killers there and send them off to murder people to further someone else interests, and somehow that is a "noble" profession. |

I like science because it allows you to look at everything in our universe as it really is. But the closer we look the harder is to figure out what 'reality really is'. In particular there have been some ideas thrown in the last century's scientific theories that were really astonishing, not to say absurd to understand from our miserable perspective. For instance, what Heisenberg said (making Einstein really disappointed btw) is that the closer we look to a certain aspect of the whole, the more we are distorting the 'rest of the whole', this said in very poor words, sorry for that. Even before, in the 19th century I guess, Huygens described any single point in a wave propagating in matter, as a source of other waves phased with the main one. Hard to figure out how it works 'really' but that's how it is in fact. Not to mention sub-atomic physics and the most recent discoveries of the dark matter and all the rest.
What I mean is: don't look to close at things because if you'll get too close you'll find yourself alone with your perception and not with 'the whole'. Second: nothing is an endpoint in this universe, but a starting point for something else. Keep looking for what's next if you can or die trying.
Last but not least: all you said has been told you or you found it somewhere else. Are you sure that's what you think? I'm not. _________________________ just because you're paranoid it doesn't mean they're not after you |
