I was contemplating this possibility concerning a high sec war, and was wondering how the game mechanics worked exactly.
Now, if I'm not mistaken, if someone flips a can (not in war) he is marked as red to the player he stole from and his corp. If someone remote repairs the one who stole, the remote repairer would also be marked as red and shootable to the player and his corp. Is this correct?
How does it work during war. If a third party not involved in the war remote repairs one of the parties to the war, is the third part ship marked as red and shootable to the opposing corp/alliance? Or is the third part immune? Common sense would tell me that he should be shootable, since he is aiding one side, but not all mechanics always follow common sense.
Note: I'm not whining or complaining, so no need for flames. This knowledge is just in preparation for any future wars.

from memory (has been a while since i was involved in a high sec war dec) the guy who remote reps ISNT shootable
only the war target.
used to be quite common to see corps decing a target and then have a logistic alt in the npc corp to rr them with immunity during their fights, not sure if its been changed yet tho

Correct.

Incorrect. Only the people actively shooting/aggressing the person being repaired will be able to shoot the neutral RR. Note that the shooting MUST occur while the RR takes place for the neutral RR pilot to become a valid target (15 minutes flash).
Keep in mind that RR does not count as aggression so the neutral pilot can dock/jump as he sees fit. This one of the major complaints on the subject.
Edit: Just remove the flashing background from pirates/wartargets but keep the "Pilot is an outlaw" as flashy in your overview settings. That way any valid target either flashes or has a star icon.

This is all wrong.
If you rep someone you inherit their aggro. If they are aggroed to some corp, whether because of war or stealing, you gain that same aggro.

That's what I thought would happen. So the only real problem is that the aggro timer doesn't apply to the RR, so they can redock and undock as needed.

Yeah, this is why high sec war decs are so boring.
A) Camp outside station with tackle, RR neutrals available and be epically bored waiting for undocks. B) Camp a gate with a neutral scout watching wt's for movement. C) Neutral prober probes out enemy wt's running missions/etc and gang warps in and attacks. Use locator agents to find wts.
That's the entire sum of high sec wars and all of them are pretty epically boring.
