Current situation: It's very hard to find an evemail in a busy mailing list. You have 15+ people, each with 4-5 mails on average, replies to this and that, over 60 mails. The problem is that you want to find a mail you have to know who sent it first and then the subject line. This kind of defeats the purpose of a subject line because you can't actually order all of your mails by that subject.
Proposal: Reorder the organization in Evemail, this wouldn't require adding anything new or changing the database, so it shouldn't be too hard to do. Currently you have all evemails under tabs. Under those tabs you have the senders. Under those you can then order by Subject or Date sent, but by then you've probably already narrowed it from 300 in all mailing lists, to 80 in the list you want and down to 10 or so by person.
Instead make all mailing lists and people fall under one catagory, INBOX. The inbox has headers that you can click to sort mail like so...
[Mailing List] [Sender] [Date Sent] [Subject]
If people argue that they still wish to keep their mailing lists separate, the proposal would still work if you left lists as they are and only allowed sorting by [Sender] [Date Sent] [Subject].
I know there have been other proposals to make Eve-Mail better, including ones making it SMTP compatible. Frankly I don't think they will happen. It would be nice, but it's too much work. As I said, this one won't require any back end changes and should require relatively few client changes.

There are a lot of great message/mail models out there on the internet nowadays, and EvEmail has got to be among the worst. It's feature-poor, has a shabby interface, and generally causes headaches for anyone who depends on it. I have a sneaking suspicion that in-game-browser enhancements will lead to some entrepreneurial folks whipping up a web-based alternative that's better in every way.
At least let's get a "sent mail" section, so I can remember what I said and who I said it to. Crusades: Security Status |

Living in a cave, the rock walls keep it cool in the summer and provide natural insulation during the winter. Broadband company had a hellava time wiring up internet out here though...
