Is anyone running EVE with dual display settings for Vista or Windows 7?

Do you mean two clients, each on their own monitor, or do you mean one client across two monitors? I'm running Vista Ultimate 64 bit with two clients each on their own monitor (sometimes a third in the background). ---------------- A million faces, each a million lies |

Its doable if you set your card to use both displays as a single desktop. Then you simply select the new resolution that pops up in the list and bam eve across two monitors. The only cavet is that your ship or anything that is the focus will get split down the middle though ccp did add the ability to move all the ui around as you wish.

if you can move the camera center relative to the center of the screen then I might actually consider getting a second monitor for eve. if they add true 2 screen support so I can have a map and all my windows on one screen and my ship on the other, I think I'd wet myself __________________________________________________ I was Amarr before they were the FOTM and I'll be Amarr after it! theres a simple solution to al this focus splitting dual monitor stuff.
Get a third monitor. Blane Xero > Lance is at -0.9 sec status with a 1 million bounty. LAnce is also amarrian. Thats 3 evil points |

The way I figure it will work is one screen will be your current space view and the other screen will be for the map and all your open windows. Now the triple screen setup at fan fest was using a matrox triple head converter box to make all three screens into one screen much like you can already do with dual screens but otherwise it was just a normal client.

I can see the point in having two monitors with one being the camera and the other being used for chat windows and the map but three monitors for one client is just pressing it beyond the limit of usability. If i had three monitors on one PC and was forced to only run one client on that PC i would use two of the monitors for eve and the third for viewing videos, browsing, having teamspeak/ventrilo, EFT, Evemon and all that stuff.
And i already have 3 monitors and 2 PC's, running three clients. One for each monitor in windowed mode as i feel that is putting the pixels to better use. What really bothers me now is the amount of data that is spread all over the screen. Some things are too large while others are too small, i really hope we will be able to have borderless windows inside eve where we can snap certain elements togeather and even scale them. Possibly even having them come into focus as we move the mouse over them. (normal scale)
All because i still feel it's worth more to me to have more clients rather than one mega client. It's also good business for CCP because i am running 3 subscriptions though i am paying for them with plexes.
My opinions belong to me, you can't have them!

Edited by: Hacra on 08/10/2009 10:19:53 Usefull app for dual monitor users, assuming you want to use the other monitor so that the game does not minimize.

I have a Nvdia GTX 260 based GPU and can run a full screen EVE client across two 24" panels at 3840x1200. It does look impressive, though as centre of the client is at the border of the screens it spoils the affect a bit. It would probably work nicely across three as they showed at fanfest. |

I have also been checking out the ATI HD5870 using ATI Eyefinity to run 3 monitors.
